Sighting by motorist 10 miles SE of Big Thicket National Preserve
The witness and a young companion were driving slowly north on Bragg Road with only parking lights on to look for the local lights. A tall dark bipedal figure emerged from woods on the east side about 20 feet in front of the truck and walked slowly across the road. It paused to look toward the occupants, showing eyeshine in the parking lights, then stepped over the road grade into the forest while crunching sounds were heard as it walked away. The witness stopped briefly then left immediately, unsettled by the human-like appearance and size.
Father and son have a close daylight encounter while driving to Wright Patman Lake
A man driving to fish with his son stopped on a road near a lake after seeing what he thought was a bear. The animal stood upright, revealing a very tall, broad, dark-brown hairy human-like form, and the driver got out and shouted at it. The creature vocalized loudly, threw part of a snake toward them, then ran rapidly into the woods.
Early morning sighting by a truck driver near Richland Chambers Lake
Around 1:30 a.m. on August 25, 2009, the witness was driving an 18-wheeler slowly on an oil-field lease road in Freestone County, Texas, when he noticed a hairy, big-headed creature squatting by the road. The creature stood upright to about cab height, growled audibly over the diesel engine, then ran bipedally across the road into a treeline at remarkable speed. The witness remained on site to work for about an hour, feeling frightened and alert for its return.
Couple has early morning sighting on Highway 105 very near the Trinity River
The witness was driving with a companion on a highway at night when they encountered an animal in the road near a road-killed deer. They braked hard, and the animal stood up from a squat, moved to the roadside, looked at them briefly, vocalized, and left into the woods. Both occupants briefly got out, felt watched, pulled the deer carcass off the road, and left.
Predawn sighting on north side of FM 1375, just east of bridge over Lake Conroe
The witness stopped at the roadside by a lake shore before dawn while commuting to work and noticed a strong musky odor and a woofing sound. A tall dark-haired entity stood up beside the witness, shook a small tree, made a squealing bark sound, then strode past onto and across the road into pines as a truck approached. The witness immediately left the area.

Later Friday night while sitting in a car facing the road, the visitor scanned the brush with starlight night vision. A large dark bipedal figure walked across the road in under five seconds where crossings had been heard the night before, then disappeared into brush. At the same time others heard Ohio-like howls to the left.
