The figure walked steadily across the tracks and down into swampy woods about 110 feet away without stopping. A family bought an old homestead where the son repeatedly said little people bothered him in the forest, horses refused the barn, and the barn smelled foul. One evening during dinner the son pointed to a bay window and the father saw a three-foot-tall hairy human-like being by an outdoor spigot apparently chattering to others below. It made eye contact, widened its eyes, leaned back, and dropped from view. The father later found a rock-covered hole in the barn opening to caverns with strong odor, and a neighbor warned that dwarves lived under the old ruined house.

As a child the witness hid in an old corn crib during a hide-and-seek game near a relative's house at sundown. Inside the dark crib the witness heard heavy breathing and saw a huge hairy man-like creature standing over them staring, with a hog-pen-like smell. The witness ran back to the house crying and reported the encounter to a relative, who did not take it seriously.

Two trappers set up camp to trap beaver and found their camp demolished and human-like tracks around it. At night they heard rustling, smelled a foul stench, fired a shot and heard something flee. Late at night in heavy fog, the witness's wife went to the outhouse and encountered something very close that she heard moving and smelled strongly, then fled back inside. The next morning he found a barbed-wire fence broken down with nails pulled out but found no tracks or hair.

While hunting near a lake in the fall of 1970, the witness reported a strong musky odor, unusual large and small scat, rhythmic thumping with ground vibration, and a large dead tree falling nearby while alone. The next day the witness returned with a companion, encountered the thumping and shaking again, and a large rock flew over their heads, after which they left the area.
