The witness camped alone on the east side of a small lake after hiking in about three miles. Around 1 a.m. while stoking his campfire he heard loud wood knocks approaching from the hill and loud vocalizations from the opposite shore about 100 yards away. The source also threw sticks toward his camp. After he fired a rifle shot into the air the sounds stopped, and he remained at camp until the next afternoon before hiking out.

The witness claims a family group has visited a rural wooded property regularly for nearly two years, typically evenings to early mornings several times a week. A family camping at a wooded campsite was awakened around 4 a.m. by strange calling sounds and heavy footsteps behind their tent. After shouting, they heard heavy stomping retreat into the woods and fled to their car. They returned later that morning, heard heavy breathing and had a stick thrown toward them before retreating again, later finding disturbed garbage and an opened food packet before leaving.

While the companions scanned with night vision and a camcorder, the investigator illuminated a sasquatch-like figure standing close below the rocks with a headlamp and watched it withdraw and walk away. The companions recorded eyeshine in the opposite direction, suggesting a second animal, and the group heard footsteps following them as they descended. They later reviewed the tape and confirmed eyeshine had been recorded.
