After a companion fell asleep, the witness decided to walk home late at night along a road bordered by young planted trees. Something in the trees paced him from the side, stopping when he stopped and continuing when he walked. When he tried to look larger and shouted, he heard deep grunts and saw two small trees shake vigorously. He called a nearby friend for a ride and kept shouting until he was picked up.

Two companions were night fishing at a reservoir when they heard tree knocks and unfamiliar calls that seemed to get closer. They decided to leave and found one of two large catfish missing from the back of the truck, then the companion was struck in the chest by a small thrown rock. On a sunny spring morning in 2011 the witness was walking a trail beside a swampy area when he heard a whistle-like sound followed by loud smashing and crashing in the woods. He never saw the source but interpreted the sounds as a large creature moving parallel to him and later splashing in a creek. He searched for tracks but found only his own.

The witness and his son were deer hunting from a blind in darkness before dawn. After the son woke the sleeping witness, they heard something large moving fast through brush behind the blind. It screamed, stomped hard enough to shake the ground, snapped limbs, and grunted and growled before leaving quickly. The pair then left the area immediately.

The witness parked to check two close trail cameras and felt strong pressure and dread. After hearing twig snaps and a huffing exhale, the witness looked up to see a tall black bushy figure about 20 yards away by a tree. It ducked to a squat and shuffled quickly as the witness armed the camera and ran to the road, then drove home shaken.

The witness and a companion were sitting outside the companion's house at night when they heard a scream from a nearby swamp. Shortly after they heard a large animal breaking branches in woods on their side of the road. After owls called behind the house, an unseen object coming from the woods landed in the yard behind them.

The witness was hunting elk with a muzzleloader several miles north of a ski area as snow began to fall. From a small canyon he heard chimp-like huffing and chattering that seemed to come from three individuals on both sides of the ravine. He tried to see the sources as the sounds kept moving ahead with him but saw nothing, then returned to camp as the storm worsened and daylight faded.

The group noticed a strange odor, heard persistent movement and muffled grunts, and watched something peeping from behind a tree. Three people went into woods near Westport at night to try tree-knocking to elicit a response. After each of their three knocks they heard distinct return knocks from across the lake, first from the west and then from the east. They also heard movement in the treeline, a low growl heard by a companion, and three distant howls they judged unlike dog or coyote. They left after about 30 minutes.

The witness and two companions were scouting for deer season by a creek near a cedar swamp when they heard an unfamiliar low growl. After the witness threw stones toward the sound, they saw a dark upright shadow moving at the swamp edge and rocks were thrown back toward them. Hearing further growls and large branches breaking, the group left quickly for their vehicle.
Daylight encounter while hiking on the Tulalip Indian Reservation
The witness was hiking on a logging road after riding a bike when they heard a branch snap, brush crashing, and a loud strike like wood on wood. A rock was then thrown from bushes, and the witness saw a hand and a muscular, dark brown, approximately 6-foot figure facing away with a V-shaped tuft of hair on top. The witness shouted at the figure, which remained still facing away, then left the area the way they came.

The witness was hunting with a dog on a sunny afternoon when the dog became agitated and a strong odor was noticed. The witness heard grunt-like noises followed twice by a loud scream or yell, plus cracking and movement in trees and brush, while the dog returned frightened with raised hair. After driving to a more open area across a shallow creek, the witness found two very large barefoot-like footprints that seemed too large and out of place to be human.
