He heard quiet brushing movement circling his position, then a long loud howl rose from the valley, and on the descent the party reported being paced, green eyeshine, and a bright head behind rocks seen on thermal by several members. As the witness took the lead near a thicket he heard a close juvenile-like two-syllable vocalization but saw nothing with his light.

During a multi-day camping trip the group smelled a terrible odor, heard knocks and gibberish chatter at night, then returned next day and fired a shotgun. Returning again that night without the wife, they heard a limb crack and a heavy thud as a rock landed by the buddy. A huge shouldered figure was seen behind the machine before they fled, later finding a high broken limb and a heavy rock.

While packing the truck to leave, the guest's son shone a light into the woods and reacted in fright. The son reported orange eyeshine low to the ground. As the guest stood at the truck he heard a very deep sound from that direction, then they left quickly.
Report of a field investigation over several days
Three researchers camped in a remote timbered drainage in early August 1998 to study suspected sasquatch activity. Over two afternoons they heard loud primate-like calls and screams around camp, and during two nights they heard conversational vocalizations, rhythmic rock-clicking, and stealthy footfalls that alarmed horses. They also detected red eyeshine and later found a fresh animal bed overlooking the camp. They left early, concluding no conclusive evidence was obtained but the area warranted further investigation.
Youngster frightened by "monster" peeping in window
A young boy resting in the upper bunk of a small cabin heard a strange animal-like call followed by footsteps and rustling outside. When he looked through the open shutter window he saw a dark, very hairy face with glowing eyes staring in, which fled when he screamed. The family later estimated anything peering into that high window from the sloped ground would have to be about seven to eight feet tall, but they found no trace the next day.
