After hearing growls on two prior nights, the witness went with his son on a Friday afternoon to explore the tree line, field, and creeks southeast of the house. During the outing they noticed movement, a foul odor of rotten eggs and flesh, and then watched a large hairy biped standing about 100 feet away swaying and staring toward them. They left without running and heard two loud tree knocks after reaching the yard.

In June 2008 around 9:30 p.m., the witness was walking with a child along a road toward a farm when a strange high-pitched howl and musty odor were noticed. A tall, hairy human-like figure emerged from a cornfield and followed at a distance as they hurried toward a waiting vehicle. When vehicle headlights were turned on, the figure paused, vocalized again, and retreated quickly into the corn. The waiting adult also heard the vocalization.

The witness and three companions turned five dogs loose at night when powerful screams were directed first at the men then at the dogs. Something bipedal with heavy footsteps ran fast left to right toward the dogs, silencing them. The dogs were found wedged in a road culvert and had to be pulled out. In September 2003 the witness and a hunting partner were coon hunting at night in a cornfield in Ohio with two hounds. The dogs went silent and their radio trackers gave no signal, then something large circled the men in the corn with audible running and heavy breathing. A large amount of foul-smelling clear slime splattered onto the partner, and the men retreated to the truck to find both dogs cowering underneath, unwilling to load.

After wild dogs chased something over a nearby coke pile and were thrown off, a massive wolf-like creature appeared on the mound, then confronted the group, stood upright, growled, and followed them into the building up to the third floor while drooling heavily. A passing train sounded its horn, frightening the creature away, after which the group waited before fleeing on foot back to a friend's house.

Two children testing walkie-talkies in dense woods noticed a dark-faced figure watching them from behind a fallen tree. After several minutes of it shifting position and studying them, they backed away, saw it rise and place its hands on the trunk, then screamed and ran. They heard a loud crack and glimpsed the black, powerfully built biped running away almost silently.

Three children walking on a wooded footpath noticed a tall female-like figure with a smaller juvenile standing by a tree off to the side. The larger figure stared at them, gave off a dead-animal smell, stepped toward them, growled and bared its teeth after being pointed out. The group fled toward a residence while hearing branches breaking, prolonged howling and screaming, and trees being beaten.

The witness and his wife returned in late January to a rock grotto where he had earlier found a possible bedding area. They found the bed intact but an old wagon moved from a ledge with drag marks in the rock. As they hiked out through a ravine, unseen actors on both ridges followed them for about an hour with knocks, whistles and other vocalizations, shaking and snapping saplings and throwing rocks until the pair reached the woods edge. Neither reported seeing anything.

After motoring to an island to confront who they thought was a person, a very large black hairy biped stepped out, screamed, charged and struck one cousin, breaking ribs and puncturing a lung, then threw a log that cut his chin. The creature reappeared, swayed and made clicking mouth sounds, then leapt about twenty feet and ran away on all fours for several hundred yards in seconds.

The witness and friends camped at a favorite ridge site between two ponds and were awakened by loud splashes. Later something circled the tent sniffing closely and gave a deep snarl near the witness's head. Both tent occupants stayed frozen until it left, found no tracks in the morning, and never returned.
