Woman recalls multiple witness daylight sighting on Shawnigan Lake
Five girls were walking in the woods when they heard crashing from across a meadow and hid to watch. They observed a very tall, hairy bipedal figure with long arms approaching, noticing a foul smell. After one cousin made a noise, the figure was startled and walked back into the woods, and the girls ran home.

The witness and a relative were riding horses on a ranch trail in the morning when the horses stopped and refused to move. After the birds went quiet and a branch snap was heard, the witness saw the back of a large hair-covered being about twenty feet away moving trees aside before disappearing. The witness and his wife returned in late January to a rock grotto where he had earlier found a possible bedding area. They found the bed intact but an old wagon moved from a ledge with drag marks in the rock. As they hiked out through a ravine, unseen actors on both ridges followed them for about an hour with knocks, whistles and other vocalizations, shaking and snapping saplings and throwing rocks until the pair reached the woods edge. During one late-night episode, one person looking out from a shelter saw a large shape briefly enter moonlight and then leave. Witness recalls face to face encounter with creature near Myrtle Point
In 1971 the witness was alone watching TV at the parents' rural house near Myrtle Point. After hearing dogs bark, smelling a strong foul odor, and hearing footsteps on an outside plank, she saw a tall hunched hairy female figure pass a glass door. The figure stopped, turned toward her and made eye contact, after which she fainted and was later found on the floor by her parents. Her father searched outside with a flashlight but found nothing.

A father from the frequently visited family was yanked off his porch in front of his family and carried into the night. Blood and a large trail were found to a creek. Men recovered him badly beaten with broken bones; he later died. The men reportedly shot and buried the hairy man and kept silent from guilt.

In summer 1965 the witness, then a child, joined other children searching sand dunes above Lake Huron after two children reported a frightening encounter. On a steep dune path in full moonlight she came face-to-face with a short orange-haired upright creature that growled, then grunted while swinging its arms and walking toward her. She fled to the beach and later learned her young sister had seen the same creature at close range from the side of the path.

During summer 1965 the witness was exploring woods near military housing when he found very large barefoot prints in red clay leading into the trees. While on a trail he heard heavy bipedal footsteps that appeared to follow him, stopping when he stopped and rushing toward him, causing him to flee to the housing area. He returned with a friend and both heard the same following footsteps rush toward them before fleeing, with the friend reporting an indistinct large movement in the brush.

Late at night in 1963, the witness and four companions were hunting raccoons with dogs in a creek bottom south of Tyler, Texas. After the dogs treed something, the group illuminated a large reddish-furred animal in a pin oak that was howling and screaming while waving its arms and shaking limbs. After someone fired at it with a .22, it growled and the group fled with the dogs back to their vehicles.

At age 12 the guest and her older cousin went into thick woods near the family lake cabin to pick raspberries and became lost after filling buckets. While arguing about the way out, the guest saw a tall, lean, hairy man-like figure at very close range that studied her, moved its mouth, and held its hands out before looking toward the cousin. The figure then disappeared quickly, and the two children dumped their berries and ran out via a logging road to the grandmother's house, keeping the incident secret for years.

The witness considered shooting it for science but refrained, then examined droppings and a bedding spot.
