Two boys walked from their houses into nearby woods toward a creekbed to shoot BB guns while footsteps seemed to parallel them and close to nearby. At the bottom of the creekbed they looked toward the sounds and saw a roughly seven-foot-tall hair-covered figure whose face they could not discern. Both fled home in fear and said the figure did not follow them.

One night the family smelled a strong musky odor in the living room, and the grandmother saw a large hairy figure squatted outside a picture window. For about a week afterward the grandmother heard something tampering with the wash-house door at night.

Something across the river crashed through brush like a heavy animal, then yelled, screamed, broke branches and pushed things over. The group fled in a vehicle, realized they left the youngest sister, drove back and found her running up the road screaming.

Five people were camping together at dawn when they heard rapid crashing and thrashing through nearby underbrush with snapping twigs. This was followed by a loud, high-pitched scream described as like a woman screaming, estimated to be 30-50 yards away. The group was terrified and left the area immediately.
Youngster frightened by "monster" peeping in window
A young boy resting in the upper bunk of a small cabin heard a strange animal-like call followed by footsteps and rustling outside. When he looked through the open shutter window he saw a dark, very hairy face with glowing eyes staring in, which fled when he screamed. The family later estimated anything peering into that high window from the sloped ground would have to be about seven to eight feet tall, but they found no trace the next day.

Helicopters pushed a female and her young into a clearing where the deputy shot the female in the chest and then shot the young in the head. Two men running dogs without guns approached strange barking at a fence. A creature stood up, blocked their lights with a hand, then followed them through cornfields to a field edge before turning back. Next day footprints and a handprint were found in creek mud and trailing dogs refused to follow.

A former law enforcement officer told two missionaries that in 1971 he took part in an agency-directed helicopter operation to kill Sasquatch living in a canyon in the Dakotas. Two smaller helicopters drove the animals while his crew photographed a female and a youngster from the air, recorded audio, then shot the youngster in the head and shot the female point-blank in the chest from a rope ladder. The female screamed and fled up the canyon with an unknown fate, while the youngster's body was bagged, netted under a helicopter and flown out. The officer said he kept the photos and cassette hidden and had told no one else.

From helicopters, crews pushed creatures out of a canyon toward a bait station, photographed them, and shot a female and her young. A relative and companion reportedly saw a gray hairy bipedal creature drinking at the creek and running up the hollow in the late 1970s.

The guest's sister said that in the 1970s she repeatedly heard something bipedal walking behind her house at night. The next morning her son found long reddish-brown hair on a barbed-wire fence where the sounds had been. In later years she has also reported howl-like vocalizations and heavy breathing from the woods and once made a phone recording.

A group riding in a bus in the 1970s heard sounds like a lion roaring, then a creature jumped onto the hood and looked through the large front window at the passengers. The front passenger saw it grin and show its teeth before it jumped off with enough force to shake the bus. The witness described it as six to six and a half feet tall, skinny, and intermediate between a chimpanzee and a person.

A coworker told the witness about a mid-1970s horseback trip when loud screaming and roaring circled the camp overnight, shook trees, threw rocks and broke limbs while the horses reacted.
Movement only in Washington (1968)
While serving on active duty and assigned to guard duty at a military base, the witness's father and others in his unit responded to a report of noises at a newly installed perimeter fence. They found several fence posts pulled from the ground and saw movement. They ordered whoever was there to show themselves and then fired, finding no blood or other result, and the unit was shipped out much earlier than originally scheduled.

A group on a musky fishing trip in Canada heard loud roars from the woods that grew closer. Two giant black beasts emerged fighting, tumbling down the bank into shallow water, slapping, grappling and biting. One prevailed and left into the woods while the other lay motionless before later disappearing.
Tall creature seen by witness
The witness's father and a companion were fishing at Chambers Creek when a large hairy creature estimated at eight to ten feet tall appeared before them and roared while displaying its arms. Frightened, the two men ran to the truck and drove back to town. The account notes the creature was reportedly seen by others afterward.
