Two people were day-hiking on a trail by the Rio Chama in late July 2020. After returning a fearful dog to the car, they heard loud resonant knocks nearby that were answered by lighter-toned knocks from farther away. Believing the sounds were exchanging responses, they decided to leave the area.

The witness stopped at a closed gas station around 1 a.m. while driving home and walked behind the building to urinate. He sensed a presence, looked back while returning to his vehicle, and saw a large hairy animal crouched nearby. The animal then stood, moved away rapidly with heavy footsteps, and disappeared toward a treeline as the witness fled to his vehicle.

During a June camping trip the witness stayed at camp while her husband walked the dogs. She heard pine cones dropping with no wind, heard her name called with no one present, then overnight heard a loud whistle and low conversation in three different tones she could not understand.

Four young people camped by a river in the mountains. During the day they found a very fresh opened deer carcass, returned to find their camp meticulously rummaged including an animal-proof cooler, and found a nearby large tent camp abandoned and dusty. Around 3 a.m. a huge heavy presence breathed deeply, smelled of wet animal and strong body odor, moved around the tents while the forest went silent, terrifying them until sunrise when they packed and left without speaking.

The witness and a companion were sleeping in their vehicle at a forest campsite. During the night they heard something rubbing against the vehicle, knocking items over, and rummaging around camp, including toppling chairs and a canopy. The companion, while lying down, reported seeing a tall black shape pass the window and leave away from roads. In the morning the chairs were overturned and the canopy was found upside down about 20 feet away, with otherwise little disturbance and no clear prints.

Early one morning while preparing to leave a campground, a couple noticed a large figure standing outside their trailer's bedroom window peering in. The privacy glass showed only a shadowy chest, head and part of an arm, which the companion photographed. When the witness opened a distant door and turned on a light, the figure was gone but quick footsteps were heard leaving down a gravel road. After sunrise they found large footprint-like impressions in the gravel near the trailer.

The witness was awake in a ground-floor bedroom late at night when she heard heavy breathing and something striking the outside wall. A large dark silhouette appeared at the closed bedroom window, swaying as if trying to see inside, and remained for several minutes despite the TV volume being raised. The next morning she and her daughter found large five-toed footprints in snow by the walkway.

The witness and a companion were hunting and camping in the mountains of northern New Mexico. On the evening of Oct 2 the witness heard a scream/howl while returning to camp, while the companion heard stick-like knocks near camp. The next morning the witness heard the scream/howl again in the same area and the companion again heard knocks from about 200 yards away.

The witness was driving home at night through a canyon pass when the headlights revealed a tall, big bipedal animal crossing the highway into a gully. The witness repositioned the vehicle to shine light into the gully but could not relocate it, hearing rocks rolling as it moved up. While standing in front of the truck the witness heard a very loud scream/roar described as gorilla-like but higher pitched, which prompted leaving the area immediately.

The witness was hunting and staying in a tent in the Chuska Mountains. At about 12:30 a.m. the witness heard two clear wood knocks from the north side of the tent. The witness listened for additional knocks or noises but heard nothing further.

The witness and a child sat in a parked pickup with windows down near a night listening location. After waiting, they heard a prolonged clamor of fighting coyotes uphill with a distinct human- or ape-like yowling mixed in lasting about 45 seconds. The witness believed others near the blasting area recorded the sounds and later said several participants agreed they had heard something other than a known animal.

In darkness the witness heard bipedal footsteps approach, contact and scratch the rain cover and disturb stakes, then heard a second set of footsteps nearby and distant rock-clicking sounds. After triggering a vehicle alarm, a branch broke as something walked away. In the morning the witness found a footprint-like mark, lifted stakes, and bent trees.

The witness went outside in the early morning to see if there was room in the trash cans. From the direction of the river, the witness heard scream-like vocalizations while the surroundings were otherwise silent. The witness then went inside to get a relative to listen, but no further sounds were heard.

The witness, a water hauler, was stuck in a ditch in an oil field when they noticed an entity watching them from a few feet away. After turning on work lights, the witness got a clear view before the entity screamed and ran off with long smooth strides. The witness states this was their second sighting in the area.

After feeling watched and noticing the woods go quiet, the witness saw brush and trees shaking but could not make out the source. Minutes later while heading back toward camp, the witness heard a guttural moan or cry from across the river and believed something followed downstream. The witness ran back to camp, injuring an ankle, and noted the behavior and sound differed from prior bear encounters.

The witness was staying with a companion in the living room of a relative's house late at night after a relative had reported a very tall figure outside. After hearing noises like objects being thrown in the dining room, the witness went to check and saw a large hand reach through the window, across a table, and take a bowl containing food. Those present were frightened and the witness called the conservation office, after which nothing further happened that night.

After being awakened around 1 a.m. by barking dogs and loud screaming and hollering sounds that lasted about ten minutes and came closer, the witness looked out a window and saw a tall hairy man-like figure standing at another window looking in. The witness hid, then later saw the figure walking away into the dark carrying something. A sour body odor was noticed during the presence, and deer jerky hanging on the front porch was missing the next morning.
2 youths encounter an 8' tall bi-pedal figure while on family campout
While camping overnight on desert BLM land, a family member stepped outside to retrieve items from a vehicle and reported seeing a tall humanoid figure walking through a ravine in moonlight. Shortly after, two family members standing outside heard a loud growl and a dirt-scraping sound. Frightened, they ran inside the trailer, and the group remained inside for the night, later finding no tracks due to windblown sand.

On the night of July 29, 2000, the witness and companions were getting home late when they heard loud screaming or screeching several times over about 10 minutes from behind houses. Dogs in the area that had been howling and barking became quiet after the sounds. No creature was seen during the main event.
