Camper Awakened by Loud Wood Knocks in Talladega National Forrest
The witness was camping overnight with a scout group on a very cold, windy night when extremely loud wood-on-wood knocks were heard from north of camp. The sounds came as three pairs of knocks and were heard clearly over the wind, with no other campers in that direction. Two other adults were also awakened and the group could not agree on a natural explanation. The witness did not investigate that night because of the weather and concern about frightening the children.
Witness has unusual experience in area of the Great Dismal Swamp
A couple sitting on a bench along a trail heard bipedal footsteps moving through dense brush across a canal, followed by chattering or popping sounds from two directions. After the witness knocked a branch against a post, a similar sound came from deeper in the woods. As they left near sunset without ever seeing the source, they heard a short loud scream described as between a whoop and a woman's scream.

The witness reports seeing a tall hair-covered figure passing the living room picture window about once a year over several years while watching television late at night. The figure is described as walking upright past the window in one direction and sometimes returning minutes later. In 2008 the witness and a companion were sitting at a secluded spot deep in the woods on a relative's large forested property. The woods became unusually silent, then heavy bipedal-sounding footsteps approached up a steep brushy slope. Both fled to the house without seeing what made the sounds.

The witness was driving on a gravel mountain road in the early morning when he saw a small dark animal sitting in the road. A tall brown-haired female came from the woods, picked up the juvenile and carried it back into the trees. After the witness got out of his car a rock struck the car and a much larger dark individual appeared behind the car, vocalized loudly, then crossed the road into the woods. The witness drove a short distance ahead, stopped, heard movement in the woods and had more small rocks thrown toward him before leaving.

The witness was canoeing alone on the river in the afternoon and had to pull out to drag the canoe around a log jam. He smelled a terrible odor and was paced by something unseen that stopped when he stopped, then heard screaming, breaking limbs, and saw a large log thrown and trees violently shaking. He fled in the canoe to the center of the river.
Growl (2008)
The hunter was crouched following a buck trail at dusk when a loud sound rising from a growl to a high scream came from near his stand. The nearby buck fled instantly without flagging. He mimicked the sound, got a hog-like snort in reply, then heard loud crashing moving away through the woods for a long distance.

The witness was deer hunting alone on family land when four does ran past. A very tall white-pinkish bipedal creature then emerged and walked toward the tree line. After stepping on a stick, the witness watched it glance back and leave, then waited before backing out and telling no one for over a year.
Whoop (2008)
On Vancouver Island the witness and a companion walked out after hearing knocks and whoops and called for a third person to bring a recorder. They watched a light like a headlamp leave camp, travel down the wrong trail into a thorn thicket, sit, then pass through and disappear. The person they thought they were watching was still in camp.
Footsteps in Texas (2008)
The guest and a friend entered a closed national forest trail to assess hurricane deadfall. After resting on a bridge over a bayou, the guest felt watched and then sensed something following and flanking them to the right. She heard heavy bipedal steps and raspy breathing, experienced intense fear and silence in the woods, and hurried to the truck without ever seeing the source.
Sasquatch sighting in Tennessee (2008)
The witness was walking the dog in the front yard late at night in snow and moonlight when dogs went quiet and a musky odor appeared. The witness heard heavy two-legged steps and watched a tall hairy figure with a conical head cross a field with long strides and step over a barbed-wire fence. After whistling, the witness raised a hand and the figure appeared to raise its hand in return before leaving.
Unidentified sound in Connecticut (2008)
On the first night in a long-empty cabin the witness heard hours of loud cracking and later found large bark strips lined up on the ground. The next afternoon he and his son smelled a strong odor and found a large scat pile by the cabin steps. The following evening all three heard a long powerful scream nearby and searched with a flashlight without finding the source.

The witness and her visiting mother-in-law both woke around 3-4 a.m. to a prolonged awful screaming like someone being slaughtered that lasted about ten minutes. They stayed inside looking out windows and afterward debated whether it sounded human or like a woman.

While her husband was out of town, the witness woke around 1:00-1:30 a.m. to deep whooping sounds, then strange chattering, then something mimicking her cat's meows outside the back door. Her indoor dogs stayed silent and her cat rushed inside when she cracked the door.
Scream in Ohio (2008)
The witness and three companions turned five dogs loose at night when powerful screams were directed first at the men then at the dogs. Something bipedal with heavy footsteps ran fast left to right toward the dogs, silencing them. The dogs were found wedged in a road culvert and had to be pulled out. A daylight return found a single-file running trackway down the hill.

The witness and her husband were asleep at their vacation cabin when they were awakened around 3:30 a.m. by loud screams that seemed to move across the property from the river toward the mountains. The screams occurred four or five times, prompting the husband to get his gun, and the couple saw nothing when they looked outside. They stated they had never heard such a sound before or since.

The witness and his wife camped at their claim in Fiddler Gulch over the weekend of June 15, 2008. On several mornings and evenings they heard the same paired cracking sound, like a branch striking a tree, with about two seconds between beats. There was little wind, and the wife suggested expanding or contracting burnt trees as a cause. An investigator later suggested the sounds could have been wood knocks, citing unusually tame deer lingering in camp at the same time.

Two companions were camping by a slough around 1 a.m. when loud whooping and moaning calls were heard from about 30 feet behind them and then repeated louder and closer. Their small dog cowered in the tent and stayed silent. They fled in their vehicle leaving gear behind, and the next day found the tent open, food missing, bedding disturbed, and a large unidentified footprint nearby.

The witness was deer hunting from a tree stand in the early morning when loud footsteps were heard in a nearby pasture. Standing to look, the witness saw a large hairy figure about twenty yards away walking quickly with a long stride. The figure was estimated at 6 to 7 feet tall, dark rusty brown, with broad muscular shoulders, long arms and no apparent neck, and it never looked toward the witness.
