Late on a winter night the witness took the dog outside and saw a large hair-covered figure standing near a small building about 20-25 feet away. The witness and figure observed each other while the dog wanted to go inside and a strong foul smell was present. After briefly looking away at a noise, the witness went inside for a handgun, and on returning the figure was gone though sounds remained in the woods. A large footprint was found the next day.
Two teenage deer hunters have encounter while hunting
Two teenage hunters were in an enclosed ground-level deer stand when they noticed something approaching wild hogs. They watched for about 10 minutes as it moved crouched, scratched its head and made deer-like blowing sounds, then stood upright after hearing a shotgun clink, causing the hogs to flee. The witnesses fled on a 4-wheeler and one looked back to see it standing by a tree watching them leave.

The witness went fishing before sunrise and heard a loud groan-growl from across the road that frightened him. After calming down elsewhere, he drove back, noticed paired trails in dew leading into oak woods, and followed them to a tree where a tall hair-covered biped stepped out. The two stared at each other, the creature appeared amused then agitated, building to a vocal display and urinating. Believing he was about to be killed, the witness fired a handgun into its chest at close range; the creature bled from the wound and mouth, stood, and climbed down a bluff toward water, after which the witness left and later found the road closed.

The witness, then 18, had gone fishing at dawn near a lake and heard an unusually deep groan-growl from across the road. After driving away to calm down, he returned, parked, armed himself with a large-caliber pistol, and followed disturbed dew trails into oak woods. About six feet from an oak tree a tall hair-covered biped stepped out, exchanged prolonged looks, then appeared to work itself into an agitated vocalizing state while urinating. The witness fired at close range into its chest, saw heavy bleeding from the wound and mouth, and watched it clutch its chest, stand, and disappear over a bluff toward the water.
Campers hear the woods come alive with screams
While camping with relatives in swampy woods, the witness heard prolonged screaming and strange noises through the night that frightened the group. They were unable to leave due to muddy roads and remained in camp until morning. At first light they found small trees snapped over, grass flattened, and what they described as huge footprints.

While working on flood-control construction, the crew heard loud screaming and banging from the swamp over several days around lunch and shutdown time. One morning they found fuel drums knocked over and dented, blood on equipment and soil, and large tracks around the site. The source of the sounds and disturbance was never identified.
