The witness stopped a car by a wooded road to urinate. A hairy man-like creature approached to within three feet while snorting and grunting and holding a small limb-like object, then walked away. The witness fled in the car and saw the creature standing at the road edge in the rear-view mirror.

Four children playing a hiding game around a house heard something large running in a nearby thicket. Shortly after, three of them watched a thick, dark, hairy biped stride across the road and down a bank into a cornfield. They ran inside to tell a relative, who laughed. The witness and two companions snuck out on a 4-wheeler into woods behind a house on a snowy night. They noticed a dead-like odor and heard monkey-like chattering, then saw a tall hair-covered biped walk toward them while growling. The group fled on the vehicle and on foot as the animal followed to within arm's reach without touching them, apparently driving them from the area.
Bicycling student has night encounter
Late at night the witness stopped under a streetlight while biking back to school to fix a brake. He heard loud bipedal footsteps approaching, then saw a white-haired gorilla-like creature about 20-25 feet away. The creature chased him briefly, moving bipedally and on its knuckles, before stopping, swaying, and climbing over a rock wall. The witness rode to a nearby house and waited until morning.
Sighting and vocalizations at a home in Wayne National Forest
Late at night two companions were watching TV in a mobile home when they heard a noise at the front. The witness looked through the door window and described a large face peering in that then screamed and pushed away. Both went out the back and watched the figure step over a barbed-wire fence and run away hunched over with very long arms. A next-day search found no tracks, but they measured the door window at seven and a half feet above the ground.

As a child the witness hid in an old corn crib during a hide-and-seek game near a relative's house at sundown. Inside the dark crib the witness heard heavy breathing and saw a huge hairy man-like creature standing over them staring, with a hog-pen-like smell. The witness ran back to the house crying and reported the encounter to a relative, who did not take it seriously.
