Mountina biker hears whoops, howls, and whistles at night

The witness spent Monday night camped alone near Mt St Helens off Forest Service Road 83 after mountain biking the previous day. Around 10:30 p.m. while sitting and stargazing, the witness heard sequences of whoops, a howl-like reply, further whoops, then two whistles, followed by silence. An attempt to record additional sounds captured nothing, and later coyote yelps from a different direction sounded distinctly different.

A quick ask from the person behind the Anomadex: if you allow analytics, Google Analytics shows me which places, phenomena and searches you're most curious about. That tells me which regions and sources to add next and what to make easier to find. It never sees your name or anything you send me, and nothing is set unless you say yes. Privacy
