Whooping sound wakes and unnerves a couple near West Alexandria
The witness was at home in bed when repeating loud whoop-like sounds woke him and seemed to approach the house, getting louder and more frequent. He woke his wife, who also heard the sound, and went to the back door with a shotgun. When the sound was very close, he fired three rounds toward it, after which the vocalizations stopped and the source receded through the woods behind the house and was never heard again.
Vocalizations heard by fisherman on Twin Creek
When the witness was 15, they were fishing with their dog on Twin Creek near dark and noticed the dog acting uneasy and staring across the creek. While walking home through woods toward a cornfield, the dog growled, whimpered and backed away at a thick cedar stand. The witness heard a few twigs snap from within the cedars, saw nothing else, and ran with the dog to the cornfield behind the house.

Possible encounter and print find while deer hunting near Camden
The witness was hunting deer from a ground chair and fell asleep. After waking to a noise and standing up, the witness heard screaming, growling/grunting and trees snapping as something moved away quickly. The witness followed snapped trees to the edge of the hardwoods but found no trail in leaf litter, then returned toward the vehicle.
