He stopped and shone a flashlight toward the sound, and the source moved back into the woods breaking branches while making grunting noises. He was frightened and rode away quickly.

While examining the carcass they reported a feeling of being watched and a strong odor described as wet dog mixed with rotting garbage. As they walked back to the vehicle near dark they heard something moving parallel in the undergrowth, then heard a loud scream from very close range, prompting them to fumble with their unloaded guns and leave quickly.
