July 2000, Lewis County Group of Young Hikers see large Bipedal Creature
A group of girls on a summer-camp hike entered a swamp-like area where they heard twigs snap, smelled a foul odor, and saw a dark hairy bipedal creature moving among trees. The creature paused and looked toward them after one girl screamed, and the group fled. A counselor later told them it was a bear, which the witness doubted because it walked on two legs and was in a swamp.

In November 1998 the witness and a companion were truck camping on a gravel overlook between two lakes to hunt elk. In the evening while sitting by a fire they heard a loud screaming howl from the treeline about 100 yards away that seemed to move closer. The witness and a cousin were resting against a tree while hunting when they heard a loud moan rising to a prolonged scream from several hundred yards away. A few minutes later they heard a much louder similar scream that sounded immediately behind the tree. They did not see anything, heard something move away through brush, then left for the logging road where other hunters had heard nothing.

In 1980 a teenage witness walking up a long driveway by dense brush heard something bipedal pacing her from cover, seeing only treetops move. That night she and her sister heard very loud repeated whoop-like calls followed by a long sad wailing cry from the woods behind their unfinished house. She interpreted the daytime pacing and nighttime calls as connected and attributed them to Bigfoot.
