The witness and a relative were walking in dense woods when they heard large, heavy bipedal footsteps on the other side of a dirt mound. The footsteps approached to within a few feet, stopped for several minutes, then resumed and moved away. As they left the area they noticed a strong ammonia-like odor.

The witness reports camping with family in the front yard late at night when they heard prolonged loud moaning from up the hill. The unfamiliar sound was frightening and the group eventually went indoors to sleep. Years later the witness felt the sound matched a Bigfoot vocalization heard on television.

Late at night the reporter and companions heard movement approaching through the brush, then retreated to sleeping bags. The witness was walking alone on a spring morning near Scenic, Washington when an extremely loud sound was heard three times from about half a block away near old railroad bunkhouses. The sound was described as starting like a roar and rising to a shrill pitch, repeated with short pauses. The witness did not see the source and could not identify it as any known local animal.

In summer around 1970, the witness and a friend were walking on an old dirt road through dense forest. About 50 feet ahead they heard a loud growling and screaming sound, saw trees shaking with sunlight breaking through the canopy, and felt the ground shake. They ran about half a mile out of the woods and the witness reported it to family that evening.
