Possible wood knocks and sticks thrown cause campers to leave early south of Traverse City
The witness walked alone down a gated dirt road to join friends at a lakeside camp and heard rhythmic banging like sticks. Later that night while kneeling to build a fire with a companion, two small sticks came from the dark woods and landed between and behind them. After others went to the water and noticed many crayfish, the group heard thumps by the fire, found the fire logs disturbed and later the tent support bent, then left the camp that night and did not return.
Camper recounts late night experience and finds footprints near Interlochen
Three people camped without tents in woods near Traverse City. During the night they heard movement around camp and sounds of something disturbing the vehicle, but waited until daylight to check. In the morning they found ferns flattened in a circle around the camp and very large footprints on a sandy road and by a creek, which the witness believes was a Bigfoot.
Howl near Fife Lake, Michigan
The witness household of four heard a loud howl-scream-wail from woods west of the barn during chores, then sent dogs in which returned excited but unharmed without seeing anything.

Possible daylight sighting by a mountain biker in the Pere Marquette State Forest
The witness was mountain biking on a game trail in thick forest when he stopped in a clear-cut opening to repair a flat front tire. A loud thump came from a burnt-out RV about 50-60 yards away, and he saw a large jet-black furred head appear in a broken window about six feet off the ground. The head tilted slowly to the side as he remounted his bike, and he rode back to his cabin using GPS. He reported smelling a pungent odor at the site and again outside his cabin the next morning, which he interpreted as the animal having followed him.

The stepbrother said that a couple years earlier, while sitting around a campfire with friends, yelling and rustling circled their campsite until they abandoned their gear and left.
