While house sitting at a wooded rural property, the witness heard strange loud howls about 20 minutes before sunset and again around sunset. She recorded the later vocalization on her cell phone at 8:13 p.m. The recording was later enhanced and reviewed by specialists who ruled out common animals.

Late at night the witness was alerted by his dog barking intensely at the woods across the street. He shone a flashlight and saw blinking eyeshine high up, which a family member dismissed as an owl. After firing a BB gun toward the light, he heard something crash quickly through dense undergrowth to the left while the dog ran to keep pace and kept staring at the spot where the movement stopped.

The witness was house-sitting at a friend's rural property and walking from the separate garage to the house around dusk when they heard two loud wood knocks from the woods behind the house. About a minute later they heard a close, distinctive whoop from the same area in the woods. They stayed outside several more minutes but heard nothing further.

While hunting deer until dark, the witness heard owl-like hoots and a howl and then hit a tree with a branch to make knocks. While walking out the witness noticed bent trees and broken branches resembling a stick structure. A few minutes later two loud knocks and a drawn-out yip, also described as including a whoop, were heard from behind, after which the witness hurried back to the truck.

The witness and a relative were fishing at a lake in the early morning when they heard a series of unusual sounds from the woods. The sounds progressed from owl-like hoots to monkey-like chatter, then to repeated loud low screams or deep howls, followed by dog-like barking and yelping. They also heard what sounded like large rocks splashing into the water at a distance. Feeling increasingly uneasy, they left the area a short time later.
