The child became frightened and they went inside, then the witness brought family and other children into the yard where the group reportedly heard the groans again. An owl flew closely past them, immediately followed by an extremely loud, chest-vibrating roar from nearby cover that lasted several seconds. The witness and a companion were resupplying a bear bait site on foot when they heard branches breaking upslope and saw a piece of tree fall. About 400 yards away on a ledge they saw a tall dark bipedal figure leaning against a broken tree. The witness watched it for 15-20 seconds before it stepped quickly into the treeline, and noticed a rancid odor near the bait site.

Late at night while sitting by a nearly out campfire, the witness heard branches breaking at decreasing distances and then very heavy bipedal-sounding footsteps approaching. After waking a companion, both heard a few more steps before the sounds stopped. Nothing was seen because it was dark and the source was in trees. No footprints were searched for the next day.

The witness was walking back from the mailbox in the afternoon when she heard deep man-like grunts and thumping from a brush thicket beside the driveway. She saw part of a large reddish-brown fur-covered animal, hunched over and rubbing or pounding its head or shoulders on trees. When she moved to get a better view, the animal ran toward her growling with heavy footfalls, and she fled to the house as it hit downed trees and stopped at the brush edge.

Two people became locked behind gates on dirt access roads and had to spend the night in their car. After dark they repeatedly heard loud wood-on-wood knocking sounds very close each time they stopped the car. They moved the car several times to different roads, but the knocking resumed shortly after each stop and continued until sunrise. After sunrise they noticed a bark wound high on a tree near the car.

Four companions on a nighttime hike in a canyon stopped when they heard an extremely loud distant sound lasting 15-20 seconds that echoed through the mountains. The sound began like a distant motorcycle and shifted into a mechanical scream, frightening the group into running down to the valley bottom. They could not identify the source, and the reporter later felt an online Bigfoot scream recording was the closest match.
