The witness stayed up late watching TV in an RV while her husband slept. She heard a series of loud, deep nasal grunt sounds from outside, estimated at about 100 feet away, which drew cats to the window. After going to bed she heard two distinct knocks on the side of the RV. She did not look outside and could not match the sounds to known animals.

They later staked out the area, heard weird noises, and smelled a foul odor. The next morning they found human-like footprints sized to the witness's foot and groups of bent and broken trees.

The witness waited alone at the bottom of a gully while two companions followed a deer's blood trail. A deep woofing sound came from the nearby treeline, prompting the witness to move to higher ground. After regrouping, the three heard heavy footsteps keeping pace with them as they hiked toward their vehicle, and shouting and gunfire did not stop the sounds before they reached the truck.
