This was followed by three very loud knocks from the same area where two children had just been playing and chopping trees. Shortly after, the companion reported a terrible odor near a hedgerow, and then both heard a prolonged loud moaning or wailing sound from behind. They later returned to the locations but found no trace of the shape or odor, and concluded the experiences were connected.

The witness was at home at night when called outside by a relative to listen to a distant low moaning howl lasting several minutes while many dogs barked. The sound seemed to fade as if moving away and frightened the witness. No creature was seen and no tracks were found. The witness states similar howls occurred a couple more times that summer.
