Couple flees their camp site after a possible late night encounter at Salt Fork State Park
The witnesses were camped overnight in a tent when they heard loud screams and later activity just outside the tent described as pulling grass. One witness shined a flashlight toward the tree line and reported large yellow eyes close together that then turned toward the woods. They reported hearing movement retreating into the woods, then packed their vehicle and drove home in the early morning hours.
Possible rock throwing display while night fishing at Salt Fork State Park
The witness and a companion were fishing at night when they heard knocking or banging sounds from trees. Shortly afterward rocks landed and bounced on the ground and road behind them, apparently thrown from a wooded area leading up a hill. They did not see the source, packed their gear, and left as the rock throwing stopped.
Possible sighting by teens in Salt Fork State Park
A group hiking in Salt Fork State Park in the evening reported footprints, grunts and glimpsed movement. The main witness waited ahead with two younger companions and reported seeing a tall hairy biped peeking from behind a tree and then from behind a rock. The three companions ran back to their cabin and later said all three had seen the figure.

The witness was camping with a relative near a lake and got up early to make breakfast. From the campsite area the witness heard two loud howl-like vocalizations coming from across the lake about a mile away. The witness ran toward the lakeshore while listening but saw nothing. The relative was not told until hours later.

The witness later listened to scream recordings on a website and became convinced they matched what the group heard, an assessment the companions reportedly shared.
Salt Fork boaters hear a loud, deep howl ("Ohio Howl") from adjacent shore
Four people boating into a cove at Salt Fork heard a loud, bassy sound from a wooded shoreline that was audible over the boat motor and resembled a mechanical siren winding up. The operator shut off the engine to listen. The reporter later said the sound was very close to a posted Ohio Howl audio clip, except closer, and noted a companion reported knocking sounds he did not recall.
