Bird watcher experiences unusual activity while hiking in the Oxbow Lake Nature Preserve
The witness walked alone around Oxbow Lake to watch birds and noticed complete silence of wildlife and a strong musky odor. A live tree fell nearby despite no wind, and the witness felt watched. While returning toward the car, the witness heard several loud howls from across the lake and then left.
Bow hunter hears vocalizations, smells foul odor
The witness was bowhunting alone from a deer blind in the afternoon when gibberish-like hollering approached from behind the blind and grew closer. He looked with field glasses but saw nothing, then smelled a strong foul odor and felt intense fear. He left the blind with an arrow nocked and hurried toward his truck, hearing loud vocalizations paralleling him from the woods. He reached his truck and drove away without ever seeing the source.
Campers hear animal groan, find tracks in the morning
The witness and companions were camping by a river when the witness heard groaning and splashing in the water around 2-3 a.m. The witness shouted, thinking it was a companion playing around, and the source of the noise left. At sunrise the group found very large footprints leading from the water into the trees.
