The witness and two companions stopped on a rural back road at night and heard a distant knock, then sounds of wood breaking after the witness whistled. After driving on to turn around and stopping again, the witness shone a light into the woods and saw a tall dark hairy figure with eyeshine watching them. The encounter lasted only a few seconds before the group drove away in fear.

Five campers staying at Spectacle Lake reported hearing tree knocks on two consecutive nights after 10 pm, first from across the lake where they believed no other people were present and then from very close to their cottage. The witness hiked the Big Cypress boardwalk trail around noon and stepped off the pavement toward a clearing. Shortly after leaving the path they heard a short deep humming or groaning sound to one side and something falling through leaves behind them, then retreated to the path. After starting back toward the clearing they heard a single crisp wood-on-wood knock and then ran to their car.
Bigfoot howls heard west of Hideaway Lake, 9 miles south of Sabine River
The witness reports hearing prolonged howls from the forested area behind the home during the early morning hours, believing there were two sources at different distances. When the witness shone a flashlight toward the tree line the nearer howling stopped while the farther howling continued, followed by two metallic taps on a nearby wire fence line. Two neighbors later said they also heard the sounds. No visual observation is reported.

While deer hunting near Hyatt Lake, the witness heard a large object crash through the woods moving away. Shortly after stopping, the witness heard tree knocks from the same direction, then heard additional knocks behind while walking back to a truck on the main road. Despite aiming a rifle scope toward the sounds from under 100 yards away, the witness saw nothing and was frightened.

While at the vehicle, the witness heard a very loud wail or scream lasting about 10-15 seconds from the north. While walking alone in the afternoon the witness noticed a brief skunk-like odor and then heard repetitive knocking from the woods. The witness tapped a stick on trees in patterns and heard knocks returned in the same numbers, first from one direction and later from two directions. After a much louder wood-on-wood smashing sounded nearby and the other knocks stopped, the witness left the forest quickly without seeing the source.

The witness and his wife were camping with their dogs when they heard repeated long howls echoing from the surrounding ridges. The witness joked at the time that it was Bigfoot but later became convinced after a shopkeeper said other campers reported similar sounds. After returning home the wife identified a played recording as exactly matching what they had heard.

Around 1 a.m. they heard about a dozen short whoop-like sounds spaced a second or two apart. The witness could not match the sounds to known animal calls after months of checking and made no recording.

The witness was concealed while hunting mountain lion and using a distressed-fawn predator call. From behind, the witness heard repeated knock-like or mouth-pop sounds from two directions, followed by deep mumbling described as an unfamiliar language. The witness saw nothing, moved into the open, then quickly hiked out and has not returned to the area.

The witness was tent-camping overnight when awakened late at night by an animal believed to be an elk running nearby. About two minutes later the witness heard repeated sets of three wood-on-wood knocks that seemed to originate farther away each time over several minutes. The witness perceived the source as moving unusually fast through dense regrowth in darkness and left the site uneasily in the morning.

Four people were train-spotting and camping by railroad tracks at night when they heard noise in brush across the tracks and saw eyeshine and a large silhouette swaying. One teen went inside while the remaining witnesses heard chatter and a branch snap south of the first figure, leading the witness to think two creatures were present. The witness then lit the brush and saw a tall bipedal silhouette stand before it disappeared, with no further activity over the next two nights.

The witness and companions were camping in the forest and had been processing firewood and sitting by the fire. Around 6:30 p.m. two of them distinctly heard a loud, pronounced human-like whoop lasting several seconds, while a third companion heard something indistinct. A flashlight shined toward the sound revealed a large owl flying away, which they initially assumed was the source, but later comparison with local owl and coyote sounds left the witness unable to identify it. The witness reported feeling uneasy with a sense of presence in camp overnight without further unusual sounds.
