The witness noticed a motionless black shape resembling a gorilla's head and shoulders in sunlit brush about 100 yards away and watched it for several minutes. After briefly looking away at the cabin wall, he found the shape gone, and shortly after heard trees cracking. He watched for about ten more minutes without seeing anything further.
