Large dark animal spotted wading in shallows of lake
The witness and a companion were fishing at a watershed in the morning. The witness heard splashing described as running through shallow water, then later saw a large dark-haired figure in a swampy area that quickly disappeared into the woods. The companion did not see the figure but saw branches moving.

At age 8 the witness was walking at night near a relative's property, heard a stirring and then low tones, and saw a tall shadowy figure with red-glowing eyes on a steep hillside that slowly backed away uphill. Later that same evening while the family car was paused on the driveway, the witness again saw the shadow and eyes from the window. The family dismissed the account, and the witness reports occasional similar figures, eyes and sounds in the area since.

The witness was fishing on the north bank of a river when a dog on the south bank barked at brush and confronted an upright, hair-covered animal. The animal knocked the dog down, emitted a ticking sound and a musky odor, then walked into the woods where the witness lost sight of it while wearing waders. The witness later found the dog with blood on it and reported seeing a taped-off police search at the site.
