The witness was sleeping alone on a rock ledge above a drainage when she heard loud repetitive whooping and howling from far below. The source moved rapidly uphill, climbed a steep cliff to the ledge, and ran past her toward the peak above, pausing briefly to look toward her. It then vocalized from the top of the peak until near sunrise, and she left the area at first light.

The witness was traveling up a flooded river by boat in the evening to look for deer. While rounding a bend near piled flood debris, the witness briefly saw a small dark biped walk up a log and disappear. Shortly after noticing nearby deer, the witness heard two very loud screams, the second longer and louder, prompting the deer to flee and the witness to leave.
Hiker has nighttime sighting at Minnehaha Falls
In May 1998 the witness hiked alone to Minnehaha Falls near Lake Rabun and remained until after dark. After noticing a bad smell and a squatting figure he mistook for another hiker, he approached and saw a very tall, dark-brown, hair-covered biped that stood, walked away with long strides, then stepped toward him before leaving. The witness drew his service pistol and shouted, after which the creature walked away, and he left the area without telling anyone at the time.

The witness and a companion camped in Wayne National Forest over a holiday weekend. After mimicking animal sounds in the evening, the witness stayed awake through the night hearing crashes, footsteps, grunts and mimicking speech, and saw eye shine high off the ground. In the morning the pair found a snapped tree, strong odor, widely spaced ground marks and a five-toed partial print, which the witness attributed to a large visitor.

About seven years ago a group camping near a secluded lake sat around a campfire late at night. A small bipedal figure about four feet tall emerged from the woods, ran toward the lake in moonlight, circled while waving its arms and vocalizing, then ran back into the woods. The group searched in the morning but found no tracks on the hard ground.

The witness was backpacking alone and set up camp above a ravine in the evening. After hearing rustling below, the witness used a flashlight and saw a tall dark-haired bipedal figure hiding behind trees about 40 feet away. The figure moved to another tree while being watched for 2-3 minutes, then ran down the creek out of sight. The witness remained by the fire until daylight and found no prints in the morning.

The witness and a young relative were walking on a trail in winter when they heard movement in the woods beside them. A tall grayish-white animal came onto the path very close to them, made a growl-like sound, and moved away quickly. The pair fled the area and said no one believed their account.

The witness was walking in the woods behind a former residence in the early afternoon when hearing a noise and seeing a large dark creature with ape-like and human-like facial features. The creature looked at the witness and then walked away, and the witness ran home. The witness also reported hearing an unfamiliar loud noise like an elephant.

While on night patrol, the witness responded to a companion's report of something standing by trees behind a building and shone a spotlight into the woods. A very large upright hairy creature holding a branch was seen, which then dropped the branch, looked back with red eyeshine, screamed, and ran away with a strong odor left behind. The witnesses later found a large pine branch torn from about nine feet up.

In 2004 the witness was watching television in an outdoor covered porch at night and turned it off after hearing a noise. A very loud screaming roar was then heard close in front of the house, sounding three times while apparently moving along the driveway, with the last call ending in sounds like mimicked dog barks. The witness's parents also heard the sounds and nearby dogs reacted strongly.

The witness and a companion were parked in a truck at a mountain road landing late at night and watched a wild boar rooting in snow. After the boar fled, an upright figure appeared at the tree line, stood over the boar's spot, and was then illuminated by high beams. The figure blocked the light, showed glowing eyes, grunted, crossed the road in three strides, grabbed a sapling and disappeared uphill, leaving a strong odor.

The witness was hunting deer from a tree stand in the afternoon when a dark figure was seen walking along a distant ridge, visible from the waist up. The figure moved with a long stride and high, marching-like arm swings with open hands, then disappeared behind bushes. The witness then heard loud branch-breaking sounds followed by quiet, became uneasy, and left the area.

A woman hunting with her husband from under pine trees across a meadow noticed a dark figure that had not been there minutes earlier. She watched it through binoculars for about 15 minutes, seeing yellow eyes looking back, before leaving for camp without telling her husband why. Her husband, positioned nearby, did not see the figure but reported smelling something awful at the same time.

The witness and his brother were cutting firewood near a river when the witness noticed movement on a distant slope across the river. After losing it briefly, the witness watched through binoculars as a bulky dark-haired figure walked upright downhill for about 100 yards. About half an hour later while loading the truck in near-darkness, the witness heard an unfamiliar high-pitched squealing noise from upriver.

The witness was deer hunting from an elevated stand in late afternoon when branches began breaking as something approached. A tall, thick, long-haired biped stopped about 30 yards away for several seconds, gave a very loud howl, then rapidly retreated through thick swamp while breaking vegetation and howled again while moving away to the southwest. The frightened witness ran to the car and later said the experience ended his hunting in that area.

The witness and a companion were elk hunting from a ridge when they heard soft murmuring voices they took for approaching hunters. They then heard heavy thumps retreating down the brushy ridge and briefly saw a big black object moving fast into the trees on the flat below. Both initially considered a black bear but later felt that explanation did not fit the vocal sounds and movement.

The witness reported driving on a country road when a large creature crossed and stopped in front of the car. After the witness brightened the headlights, the creature approached, struck the car and leaned on the hood while screaming loudly. The witness reversed around it and drove away while still hearing it screaming in the distance.

The witness walked to a treestand before dawn for a bowhunt and heard a howl-like sound in the dark. After daybreak, after several deer ran past appearing spooked, a tall bipedal hair-covered creature ran past the stand without stopping. Two more smaller creatures, one described as dragging a baby-sized one, then appeared briefly before quickly following the first, leaving behind a foul odor.

Late at night in September 1997, the witness was smoking on a back porch when a high-pitched screech was heard from a neighboring yard. The witness then saw a very tall white human-like form running through that yard with its head turned toward them. The form ran into nearby woods and running sounds continued for several seconds before the witness went inside.

That night the group heard loud piercing screams in the forest and smelled a strange skunk- and sweat-like odor, and the witness sounded a personal alarm which seemed to drive something away. The next morning they found more tracks near the campsite along with some broken branches.
