The uphill observers reported a huge 8-foot-plus figure about 25 feet away leaning side to side to look through the trees and moving its arms. The episode lasted about 30 minutes, followed later by a distant scream, and a next-day search found disturbed soil but no footprints.

The witness emphasized the figure was much larger than a bear.

The animal then moved away downstream through brush on two legs with a long loping gait. The witness noted the dog remained calm, unlike its usual reaction to wild animals.

The witness remained overnight without further incident and left the next morning.

The witness was uncertain whether the sounds and sighting involved the same animal and noted a bear as a possible alternative, only later considering Bigfoot after finding a website.
