Old sighting (1973) and recent vocalizations (2005/06) on the outskirts of Maryland (town)
On February 2, 2006 around 6 a.m. the witness was walking to a vehicle after dropping children at a sitter. From across the road and over a creek about 100 yards away, the witness heard a single loud yell lasting six to seven seconds that sounded like the Ohio Howl. The witness did not remain to listen for a second vocalization.

The witness was in an outhouse near the home after waking when rustling and sticks breaking were heard approaching. The witness opened the door and saw a tall, hairy, ape-like figure that fled into the woods on being seen. Later that night the witness and relatives heard loud screams or howls.
