The witness was driving north on Hwy. 101 to visit a friend and pulled onto a wide spot to let faster cars pass. While stopped with the passenger window open, the witness heard an extremely loud scream and then saw a tall, dark-haired, muscular creature a few feet from the car. The creature took a couple of large steps toward the redwoods, went around a tree, and disappeared into dense brush. The encounter lasted only a few seconds and left the witness badly shaken.

A figure approached the vehicle from the passenger side to within a few feet, appearing curious and focused on the inside of the vehicle, then crossed the road. Two companions were fishing a branch of the river in the morning when they heard a sound like a dying deer and noticed a very strong odor. They then heard movement and footsteps on a nearby island but could not see the source over the terrain. One companion briefly reported seeing something he first thought was a bear and then suggested could be a bigfoot, after which the pair left the area.

The witness grabbed a flashlight but saw and heard nothing further, later noticing fine dust particles hanging in the air where the figure had paused.

She saw a large fur-covered creature on its knees drinking, which then stood up very tall and stepped over a stump. The witness was sitting on the patio talking when she glanced toward the woods behind the home. A tall black two-legged creature took two large steps past a shelter and barn and disappeared. It did not turn, make noise, or appear to notice her.

The witness was driving south at night with relatives in two separate trucks when bright headlights revealed a very large animal in the median. As the truck approached, the creature was seen crouched over what looked like a dead deer and then turned to look toward the vehicle. A companion in the other truck confirmed immediately by phone that he had seen the same thing.

The reporter was driving west on Highway 50 near Meyers at night with his wife and two children. The reporter and his wife saw a large animal cross the road ahead in the headlights and disappear into the trees. The wife, who had clearer vision, described it as monkey-like, heavy-set, with light brown hair, walking slowly and casually on two legs without looking at the car.

The witness and a relative left camp near a lake at night to collect firewood in a clearing. The witness heard a growl and then saw a tall dark upright figure that stood up and shook small trees.
