Campers menaced after dark by what they assume was a family group
A group camping above a swollen river heard mumbling voices and stick-breaking approaching, followed by loud chanting, shouting and stomping that shook a log seat and was taken as a demand to leave. The sounds stopped after deep hooted calls and later receded to distant screams up the valley and across the mountain. Later, while in a tent, the witness saw the firelight blocked by a squatting silhouette that touched the zipper with five digits, with felt breath and strong odor, before withdrawing. In the morning the witness noted hairs and deep depressions on the trail.

Later the same night a supervisor watching through a thermal tank scope saw a very large bipedal heat signature approach two other agents on foot. The figure was described as towering over the agents, walking like a person rather than a bear, and stalking them. The supervisor ordered the agents back to their vehicles.

Late at night the witness was driving home with a son and daughter, all awake and alert, when an ape-like animal crossed the road in front of their moving vehicle at very high speed on its knuckles and disappeared into the darkness. All three occupants reported seeing the same animal and agreed it looked like a primate unlike familiar local wildlife, later speculating it might have been a young Sasquatch.

While visiting family property, the witness and her partner found a very large human-shaped scat pile containing fruit pits. Later that evening while bathing alone, she saw a head with eyes watching her through a small high window and spoke to it thinking it was her partner. The next day no chair or woodpile was found that could explain someone seeing in, as the window was seven to eight feet off the ground.

In daylight the witness was walking back with his mother, two brothers, and three dogs after moving cows. The dogs yelped and ran off as something was heard running in the woods to the side. They saw a fast brown diagonal blur pass 30 to 50 feet away through redwoods without visible arm swing, and the witness judged its height by swaying branches.

The witness and his wife spent a weekend camping in 1994 at Laguna Mountain where the campground was empty. At night they heard wolf-like howls and the next day on a desert trail they found crossed dead trees, heard loud animal cries, and watched a distant reddish hair-covered figure standing and slamming backward into a tree, which they first took for a bear. A ranger insisted there were no wolves or bears in the area. On the second night rustling around the tent and sudden overwhelming fear caused them to abandon camp and drive home in the early morning.

Three people in a small pickup at night on Highway 299 saw a creature in the headlights walking ahead of them up a hill. The witness described a very tall, heavy, reddish-brown ape-like animal with long straggly hair and long swaying arms that walked with bent knees, estimating it at 7 to 8 feet tall with shoulders level with a 55-mile highway sign. All three occupants were frightened.

The witness was riding a small motorbike at night when he heard a flopping sound and looked back. He claims a tall, hairy, upright figure was running behind the bike at about 15 mph. Frightened, he accelerated to get away.

The witness was trying to sleep in a van while two companions slept in a tent nearby. The van began rocking violently from side to side until the witness yelled, then the witness shone a flashlight outside and saw a hair-covered figure walking upright past the vehicle into the forest. A foul cesspool-like odor was noticed around the camp, and the companions said pebbles had been tossed onto their tent and something had brushed against it. The group built a fire, discussed what happened, and packed up to leave early.

The witness was working alone in a remote clearcut counting planted trees when loud noise drew attention to the brush edge. A tall upright creature about 110 to 125 yards away paused leaning its forearms on a bent tree for about 45 seconds while looking back. It then stood, took two steps, and disappeared; the witness did not search for tracks and continued working.

The horse became agitated so the witness left to tell friends, who returned and heard movement and saw ferns moving as something left toward the larger creek. The witness believed the crashing was made by a larger animal accompanying the young creature.
