BFRO Investigator videotapes encounter in Daniel Boone National Forest
An investigator hiked with two companions to the top of a rocky ridge at night to look into recurring activity. While the companions scanned with night vision and a camcorder, the investigator illuminated a sasquatch-like figure standing close below the rocks with a headlamp and watched it withdraw and walk away. The companions recorded eyeshine in the opposite direction, suggesting a second animal, and the group heard footsteps following them as they descended. They later reviewed the tape and confirmed eyeshine had been recorded.

A couple drove into an old rock quarry at dusk and saw a large gray human-shaped figure standing in front of their car. They watched it quickly climb a steep gravel slope on all fours, stand bipedally at the top, and walk into the woods. After hearing a loud crash, the witness saw a dark muscular human-like figure moving quickly through brush toward a ravine about 20-30 feet away. In fall 2008 the witness was driving a pickup slowly along a dirt road beside a creek toward a one-lane low-water bridge in the evening. Beside the bridge he saw a large shaggy figure he first took for a bear, which stood upright as he approached and watched him pass within a few feet. He described it as about eight feet tall with long arms, no visible neck, and a hairless human-like face. The figure then stepped into deep water, crossed the creek, and climbed the far bank holding trees, and was gone when the witness returned after dark.

The parent reacted to something ahead, and the witness then saw a very tall upright animal cross the road, step over a guard rail, and disappear under a bridge. The witness was turkey hunting in heavy hilly forest at daybreak when branches breaking drew attention. The witness watched a large hairy figure with long arms and a hunched back travel down a draw until it disappeared into the woods. The figure was estimated at 7 to 8 feet tall, very muscular, seen from about 100 yards in low light.

The witness reports repeated encounters over three to four months near the family home involving a large bipedal animal that is not a bear and has a very strong bad odor. Dogs are frightened by it and horses become agitated when it is close, and some livestock have been lost. The witness walked a ridge into the wind and surprised a large hairy creature bedded 8-10 feet away. The creature emitted a loud whoop and force that froze the witness, then slid rapidly down the rocky ridge using trees, stood, bared its teeth, and left silently. The witness fled cross-country to a road and later returned to the house where the grandfather had fired signal shots.

The grandchild later said the animal resembled a movie character but with a head bump and was not standing upright.

The occupants of a pickup became lost on logging roads late at night and stopped after the reporter noticed huge glowing eyes ahead. The reporter stared at the eyes and then made out a large black bulky form with massive forearms that stayed motionless in the headlights. The form then moved rapidly up a brushy hillside as the group drove away frightened.

The witness and a companion stopped while hiking and watched a reddish primate-like figure peeking from behind trees and brush about 100 feet away. The figure watched them for several minutes, moved away, then reappeared to peek briefly several more times over about 15 minutes. During the encounter they also heard movement in ravines on either side.

The witness was driving with a companion when the companion reported seeing several upright figures. They returned, parked, and the witness watched four dark figures on a hill about 150 feet away, with two larger standing and squatting and two smaller sitting. After the witness howled, the largest swayed between trees then moved toward a smaller one before the group went over the hill and the couple left.

The witness was walking dogs outside the home before dawn when she noticed a very large hair-covered biped in the street. The creature repeatedly moved quickly closer when she looked away and froze when she looked back, approaching from about 200 feet to near the house. She hurried the dogs inside, heard barking and saw the motion light activate, then remained inside afraid.

The witness was awake in a ground-floor bedroom late at night when she heard heavy breathing and something striking the outside wall. A large dark silhouette appeared at the closed bedroom window, swaying as if trying to see inside, and remained for several minutes despite the TV volume being raised. The next morning she and her daughter found large five-toed footprints in snow by the walkway.
