The cousin went ahead, then dropped to the ground shouting to run as a whole tree with root ball flew horizontally over him. Two people were riding ATVs up a creek canyon into meadows and pines. On the way down near sunset the rider in back saw a hairy arm and torso with a large foot leaning from behind a tree about ten feet away. He braked and returned, but the figure was gone and nothing could be heard.

After dark with a dead flashlight, he hiked up the canyon trail toward the sound and faced a tall silhouette blocking the trail before it moved aside and let him pass.

The figure then turned, dropped to all fours, and ran away silently through dry leaves and scrub oak. The companion saw nothing, and footprints were later found nearby coming down a mud embankment.

The witness was camping with friends in a Utah canyon and became separated alone in the woods while playing a nighttime game. After hearing a grunt and a deep growl and seeing an arm wrap around a tree, he watched a tall, muscular, thin-haired biped step between trees while staring at him. He fled toward approaching headlights, fell down a drop to the road breaking his collarbone, and was picked up by a passing couple who took him to a ranger station.

A month or so before the later backpacking incident, the witness camped with his daughter and her friend. The girls saw something large moving just outside the firelight and going behind the tent. When the witness approached with a light, a pine cone flew out close to him, he felt he should not go farther, and he brought the girls into the tent.

Both shot at it many times with no apparent effect, then lost it in a ravine with no blood or tracks, noting the area had gone quiet.

Creatures hit the RV, growled, ran off, damaged property, and were captured in photos and video with metallic gate sounds heard. A dogman-like individual with teeth and slobbering also appeared, and the homeowner's arrival scattered the creatures until the renter fled.
