Man recalls a nighttime sighting while viewing the city lights in Chataqua Park
In November 1995 the witness stood alone at night in Chautauqua Park overlooking the city lights when a rustling sound drew attention to a large hairy human-like silhouette about 30 meters away. The figure reportedly watched briefly, then ran with a hunched-over loping gait toward tree cover and disappeared behind a tree. The witness considered it a possible bigfoot sighting.

While hunting deer, the witness and companions stopped on a road overlooking a slope and watched several upright jet-black creatures for several minutes with the naked eye and optics. Two larger individuals were first seen in the open, then smaller individuals about half their size emerged from a draw. The creatures moved into brush as a pickup passed on a road below, and the witnesses later found only sliding marks in loose dirt on the steep hillside.

As they ran for the car the guest fell, was helped up, and felt a stick hit his legs while glimpsing a dark crouched shape behind him. The friend reported seeing a tall hairy man-like creature close behind, and both fled, later concluding it was a Bigfoot.

Two companions lagging behind a larger hiking group returning from a mountain lake saw a tall light-grey figure leap between trees about 30-60 yards away. The figure showed clearly visible arms and legs, moved very quickly and made no sound. The witnesses first thought it was a relative playing a trick, but found that relative already back at camp, and they ruled out deer, sheep, elk or bear. They observed a large hair-covered animal squatting in a dry creek bed striking two rocks together while vocalizing, which then stood, leapt the creek, and ran upslope out of sight. They later collected two chipped rocks from the spot but found no tracks or hair.

The witness was driving alone to work before dawn when headlights illuminated a tall upright figure descending an embankment and crossing the highway. The figure paused briefly in front of a warning sign, looked toward the vehicle, then went over the opposite embankment out of view. The witness slowed briefly then left in fear and later returned in daylight to find large indentations descending the embankment.

The witness drove off a gravel road to follow an old trail and entered a small meadow around noon. A hair-covered juvenile rose from behind a log, glanced at him, then dropped to all fours and walked quickly into the treeline. The witness followed on foot partway, heard sharp knocking sounds from two directions, and then left the area. He later estimated the log distance at about forty-one yards.

He noticed a dark shaggy huddled shape nearby that later disappeared, then found small human-like tracks in mud and encountered a strong musky odor. The next morning he found space behind a boulder where something could have hidden. Looking back years later he interpreted the shape as several primates huddled together.

They watched a very large, reddish-brown, hair-covered figure walk down the street under a streetlight, cross the road, and disappear past a car wash and storage units. Three people in two pickups crested a hill at dawn and noticed a fresh set of large tracks looping across an open hillside in new snow. A relative glassed the area with binoculars, became visibly upset, and said he thought he had seen bigfoot. The group did not approach the tracks or the area and avoided it altogether. The account was relayed secondhand by a close friend of one of the men.

During a nighttime military training patrol the witness became separated from the unit and cut through a wooded area to intercept them. Rounding a bend in the trail, the witness encountered a tall light-brown hair-covered figure standing on the trail about 10 feet away. After mutual observation the figure showed a startle response, then crouched and moved sideways off the trail while watching, kneeling behind a bush where it became hard to see.

The witness was up early for school at a remote home when the dog began barking hysterically toward the canyon. The witness looked out the kitchen window and saw a tall hair-covered biped running into the canyon with a side-to-side motion. The witness ran to alert parents, but by the time they reached the window it was gone except for a brief last glimpse between bushes.

Four bowhunters bugling for elk heard a powerful howl they said was not an elk and was not made by their own party. As the sounds drew closer, one member of the party saw a dark brown flash of fur in the trees but could not identify it. The group then drove out of the area and did not return to hunt.

While riding in the back seat during a family drive through Phantom Canyon, the witness saw a large dark furry biped among cows beside the road. The creature, seen from behind, walked briskly with wide arm swings and long steps toward a treed rocky area. The driver turned back to look again minutes later, but the figure was gone.

The witness was scouting high-elevation timber for a later elk hunt when he noticed tree breaks, pushovers and tracks. From boulders he glassed about eight hairy bipeds with young, watching them for about half an hour as some appeared to hide at a choke point while others circled. He concluded they were hunting deer and left with his companion before dark.

At age twelve on a family road trip, the witness stepped half-asleep out of the truck camper after midnight to relieve himself. A large dark figure sat on its haunches on the path to the river about twenty to thirty feet away, backlit by the moon. After a frozen stare the witness shut the door, heard distinct bipedal footsteps, then a fist-sized rock and a freshly ripped branch struck the camper.

While riding as a passenger on a late-night highway drive from Texas toward Colorado, the witness saw a small white-haired upright figure with a dark face standing beside the road in the headlights. Minutes later after stopping, the driver independently said he had also seen something white and furry behind them. The two agreed the figure had two legs and was not a coyote, but they left without investigating because a sick companion needed to get home.
