The witness was driving slowly westbound on I-84 in fog and snow when they passed a large, dark, shaggy creature sitting or leaning against the guardrail beside the lane. The creature appeared to watch traffic pass, turning its head from side to side, with snow streaked on its long hair or fur-like coat. The witness saw no stalled vehicles or reason for a person to be in that isolated, steep, cold location and later wondered if it could have been Sasquatch.

At night while using a computer at home, the witness heard odd sounds and saw a bigfoot looking in through the back window. The witness greeted it, and it turned away and walked toward the field behind the house. During an overnight fishing trip the witness and his girlfriend were sleeping in a parked vehicle near a cabin when they noticed a tall hair-covered figure standing at the tree line and two smaller crouched figures near a truck. After alerting a companion in the cabin, the witness started the vehicle to shine lights on the figures, which then fled into the trees. A companion reported something running across the road as they drove, and later the group heard commotion near the lake.

The witness was driving home around midnight when he saw a tall figure standing by a roadside fence watching him pass. Believing it was a man needing help, he stopped, got out with a flashlight, and started walking back toward it. A loud vocalization shifting from high-pitched to low guttural frightened him, causing him to drop the flashlight and drive away. He returned the next day to recover the flashlight and found only flattened grass with no footprints or hair.

While hiking alone and descending a dry trail, the witness heard a loud crashing nearby and saw a large black ape-like animal running uphill, visible from the waist up. The animal tripped, caught itself, showed its face in profile, then disappeared while a fallen tree rocked and a possible face was glimpsed. The witness photographed the area, heard and saw nothing further, found no other tracks, and later found possible scat in the direction the animal headed.

The witness was walking on a shaded path near a pond while relatives fished nearby. The witness saw a black, skinny, short-haired figure about six feet tall leaning over drinking from a stream. When the witness approached, the figure stood quickly on two legs, grabbed a tree, and moved rapidly up a hill.

The witness was walking in woods behind the house in late afternoon when rustling was heard ahead. A very tall dark hairy biped stepped into a small clearing about 20 yards away, looked at the witness, then turned and left into the tree line. The witness was inside the home at night when excited barking from local dogs caused a look out a window. A large hairy biped was seen backlit by an approaching car's headlights as it ran upright across the road about 130 feet away, and the car slowed as if its occupants also saw it. The witness then went outside to bring in a dog, noticed a bad odor, and later searches found no footprints.

A couple on vacation stopped at a clearing near a deserted campground to look around. They found unusually large droppings, noticed the woods had gone quiet, and felt watched before leaving. The witness was on an evening walk with a dog on a beach north of Brookings when the dog refused to enter the north end. Later, while heading up the path to the parking lot at 7:15 p.m., the witness saw two very large black-covered figures on the steep hills to the north. The figures walked hunched over with ape-like arm swings and long strides and appeared to come toward the witness, who then ran toward a vehicle.

At sunset the witness and a companion were hiking along a creek when they heard singing coming from a culvert. They approached and looked through the culvert and saw the silhouettes of two ape-like creatures with glowing eyes crouched at the far end, swaying and humming. The witnesses left quickly so as not to disturb them.

The witness and a friend walked toward a creek in a park and the witness climbed onto a fallen pine to balance. A large dark mass rose from dense cover and stepped into view as a tall, broad, hair-covered biped. It walked away without looking at them while its heavy steps thudded, then disappeared into the woods.

The witness was driving south on Highway 219 out of Hillsboro at night with high beams on while scanning for wildlife. The headlights illuminated a tall, upright, shaggy animal standing motionless in a field a short distance from the road. The witness estimated it at about 8 feet tall, noted it faced the lights without reflective eyes, and passed it in seconds at 55 mph. On driving by again about an hour later, the animal was gone.

The creature turned and quickly left over a small hill into forest cover within seconds. The frightened witness left the area westward and has not returned.
