The witness was driving north on an interstate in northern Michigan in early afternoon when traffic ahead stopped. The witness saw a massive dark-haired bipedal figure emerge from woods on one side and cross the highway to woods on the other side, moving slowly. Occupants of nearby stopped cars also appeared shocked.

The figure stopped after noticing them, then turned and walked silently back into the woods despite dry leaves on the ground. When they reached the spot, it was gone with no sign or sound.

The witness was boiling maple sap by a fire around 1:30 a.m. when they went behind a shed and noticed a tall shadow-like figure moving toward the water. The witness was driving at night on a road through a swamp area when headlights revealed a large hairy biped standing in the road. As the witness braked and approached, the figure appeared on the roadside about 10 feet from its original position without being seen to move, then vanished toward the swamp. The witness stopped within about 20 feet and described the figure as about 7-8 feet tall with dark hair tipped with silver-grey and a deep chest.

Two people walking toward Miner's Falls heard repeated wood-on-wood banging for about a minute. They saw a large limb held straight out and striking back and forth between two close-set trees about 20 feet away. One witness glimpsed a dark unidentified shape believed to be part of a dark arm that seemed to rise from leaning over before the noise stopped and moved away behind the trees.

Around 3:30 a.m. on a bright moonlit night, the witness saw a large figure squatting by the back deck, apparently looking in the windows. The witness chased the figure into the woods but lost it. On returning, the witness realized its head had cleared a nearby shed, suggesting it was much taller than the witness's own 6-foot-2 frame, which left the witness badly frightened.

The witness and a companion got lost while walking on trails near a cabin and headed for the main road to get their bearings. On the road they saw a huge black hair-covered figure about forty to fifty feet away that at first looked like a man. After exchanging looks, the figure sprinted away on two feet across the road into the woods, moving much faster than a human.

They first assumed it was a person, but saw no car and found no footprints when they returned to the spot. After driving around the area, the witness felt she had seen something different.

When he tried to shut his front door, something held it open against his push. The driver was turning left when deer ran across the road and the passenger shouted about something to the west. The driver only glimpsed a large dark upright shape already entering the tree line. The witness claims a small black figure about 3 to 4 feet tall ran down the dirt road in front of the house with long swinging arms and a hunched posture. Two very large, barrel-chested bipedal figures crossed the road in front of the cars with a high-stepping march, appearing unbothered by the vehicles and lights. The witness drove past slowly, did not see them again, and hurried home shaken.
