Tall human-like form seen at Chilliwack Lake Provencial Park
Around midday in May 2001, the witness was driving toward Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park to check camp sites when they saw a large black human-like figure walking upright along the treeline about 200 meters ahead. The figure turned 90 degrees into the woods at high speed without looking at the witness, and the witness stopped and followed on foot for about an hour. The witness found only broken branches, bent grass and unusual silence, and estimated the figure's height at over seven feet by comparing to a branch at its head level.
Daylight sighting by motorist on Hwy 93 about 20 miles east of Radium
The witness was driving on a highway east of Radium Hot Springs in daytime when he saw a large dark figure emerge from roadside trees to the edge of the road. The figure was visible briefly ahead before retreating into the trees as the car approached and did not cross the road. Companions in the car did not see the figure.

Two coworkers surveying a woodlot heard close bipedal-like footsteps in dense brush in the morning, then heard a single twig snap near their midday lunch spot. Later that afternoon a large hidden animal bolted from behind a knoll toward the treeline as one worker walked past, crashing through tall brush. The writer heard the movement but did not see it; the companion briefly saw only the dark top of its head or back above tall shrubs. The writer interprets the three incidents as one animal trailing them through the day.
Camper witnesses animal on two legs climbing up gully east of Hope, south of Hwy 3, near Nicolum Creek
The witness walked into an abandoned gravel pit area to gather firewood and saw a large bulky animal in a gully about 50 yards away standing on two legs. The animal's back was turned and its head remained hidden by foliage while it appeared to dig in bushes. When the witness retreated toward the truck, the animal climbed the opposite slope on two legs using its forearms and disappeared into trees at the top.
"Tree stump" jumps up and runs away
The witness was hiking with family on a trail near their campsite at midday. He noticed a stump-like shape in a sunlit area that suddenly stood and ran away bipedally for about 100 yards. His family did not see it. He reported it to a park worker and later returned to find large tracks and disturbed wood.

The witness was driving to work in the morning when a dark figure climbed a roadside bank, stood up, and crossed the highway in a few very long strides to the treeline. The figure was estimated at 7 to 8 feet tall, appeared covered in hair, walked slightly slouched, and paused to look toward the witness. The witness continued driving and returned later, but rain had packed down the site and no footprints were found.
Two men on a canoe trip hear then see 8ft tall sasquatch at close range
The witness and a companion canoed to a remote shore of a lake for lunch when they heard growling and smelled a foul odor. They pushed through brush and saw a huge dark-furred biped about 20 feet away apparently feeding on a small animal. The creature stood to about 7-8 feet, looked at them, then grabbed its meal and ran off while the pair retreated to their canoes.

In a trailside interview, a youth told the writer that when he was about twelve he saw a creature down by the river bending over. He first thought it was a bear, but it then stood up and walked away on two legs. The interview occurred during the writer's summer trip to the Bella Coola area.

A female forestry technician was alone checking a cutblock and walking out on an old road in the afternoon when she noticed she was being watched. She turned and saw a tall, dark-brown furry animal with long arms walk with bent knees for two strides before hiding behind a large boulder. The creature reportedly came out onto the open beach in daylight, noticed the witness, and then quickly retreated into the surrounding forest. The witness and a companion were exploring near a river after fishing was cut short and began throwing rocks at a sandy slope. They heard a noise above them and saw a hairy human-like creature with a large upper body and hands perched over a stump looking down at them. After brief eye contact the creature retreated into the treeline, and the two fled to a vehicle and told the adults they had seen a large bear.

The guest and a companion returned to the caretaker trailer on Village Island to remove supplies. The companion was startled at the trailer hitch, dropped a battery and fled, while crashing was heard in the forest and a bad smell was noticed. The next morning the companion said a black form had jumped up and run away fast on two legs.

A group of six hiked down a mountain trail in the afternoon. A hair-covered biped crossed the trail between the lead hiker and the next person and leapt down an embankment into trees. The party glimpsed movement and heard crashing as a dog chased it, then watched a distant burnt tree sway with creaking before falling. Believing the creature pushed the tree over, the group left quickly.

The witness was driving alone on the Trans Canada Highway in the early morning when a very large hair-covered man-like animal crossed the road ahead. The animal paused in the ditch and appeared to look for traffic before taking long strides across the highway and down the opposite ditch. The witness looked into the forest where it went but could not relocate it because it moved fast into dense trees.

The witness was on night shift at an isolated gravel pit and walked up the hill to the porta potty during a break on a bright moonlit night. He mistook an approaching figure for a co-worker, hid to startle him, then came face to face at about 15 feet with a very large hairy biped that grunted, producing a visible cloud of breath. The creature walked into the bush and snapped a large branch, the witness fled down to the crusher, drove to town, and later returned with his friend to find a torn branch and large spaced steps leading to a ledge.

In summer 1983 a camp leader took an assistant and nine boys on an overnight hike on Tet Ridge. During the afternoon hike they repeatedly glimpsed a large black figure at a distance and found very large tracks and broken branches high above the ground. That night at a near-summit camp the group heard multiple loud roars and stayed awake by the fire, also hearing movement below. They found no further sign on the hike out and agreed not to tell others.
