The witness was making dinner in the kitchen and looking out the back window toward the woods when he noticed a large black figure crouched behind a tree. He saw a long hairy arm and a foot protruding from behind the tree and judged it too large to be a man. He ran to alert his father, but the figure was gone by the time his father reached the window. A later search found no tracks or impressions.

The witness was backing out of the driveway with family at dusk when headlights illuminated a tall, broad, grayish-blond creature standing about 40 yards away near an oak tree. The creature faced the witness with its arms at its sides. After the witness briefly looked away to alert a relative, the creature was gone.

He reported watching three pairs of eye reflections at different heights from near the house for about an hour. The group was pelted with rocks, heard branches snapping and saw large trees broken, saw eyeshine, and detected about five heat signatures. Late at night the witness was driving home near a wildlife area when headlights revealed a large bipedal figure beside the treeline about 15-20 feet from the road. The figure appeared to be walking away into the trees showing its back, and when the witness stopped the headlights had moved past it so nothing could be seen. The witness then left the area alone.

The witness and a relative were hunting and crossing an open field to leave around dusk. The witness, waiting alone in the open, saw a distant figure walking with large steps along their earlier path and then standing behind a tree watching and moving its head side to side. After the relative rejoined and looked toward it, both ran to the trail and got a ride out from a passing couple.

The witness was deer hunting from a stand in a state park in Shelby County, Illinois, when they reported seeing a tall dark figure about 60-70 yards away in the late afternoon. The figure was described as about 8 feet tall with blackish coloring, broad shoulders, long arms and a crowned-shaped head, walking away with its face not visible. The witness took cell-phone photos that lacked detail and later noticed twisted and broken-off trees in the area.

Two occupants then saw a tall white to light-grey figure cross the road in two to three steps. After stopping, the group saw another set of red glowing eyes on the east side about 8 to 9 feet off the ground where the figure had disappeared.
Possible early morning sighting by a couple driving near Hedgesville
The witness was driving to work in the morning when a deer ran across the road and caused slowing. The witness and a companion then noticed a bipedal figure running through the woods in the opposite direction, uphill over fallen trees. They watched it from behind for about six seconds from 50 to 75 yards away and described it as 6 to 6.5 feet tall with a dark bulky build and speed too fast for a human. They stated it was not a deer, bear, human, or other familiar animal.

The witness hiked to a riverside fishing spot on a sunny late morning after a cold night. As he came up an embankment he saw a large hairy upright animal standing in the sun about 30-40 yards away and watched it for about 15-20 seconds before speaking to it. The animal then avoided eye contact and left quickly uphill, after which the witness heard rapid knocking sounds like a drum roll from the ridge. He camped there overnight without seeing it again.

A hunter encountered a large fur-covered creature crouched on all fours examining tracks in light snow at the edge of a cedar swamp. The creature stood and looked at her from about 20 yards away, frightening her, and she fled to her stand and called a family member. The family member arrived later and found tracks, broken branches and a bad smell, with a feeling of being watched.

The witness was driving home from work in the late afternoon when they saw an upright figure cross the highway ahead and continue north. By the time the witness reached the crossing point, the figure was no longer visible. The witness described this as their second sighting in the Hagaman Bottoms area.
