Possible vocalizations heard while visiting McKenzie River Valley
Late at night at a yurt near a creek, the witness stepped outside and heard loud hooting/howling from across the creek. The sound was heard two more times from inside the yurt, and later the witness saw a faint outline duck behind trees on the hillside. The next morning a partial muddy footprint with hairs was found leading toward the yurt door.

In spring while his family played on an icy pool near waterfalls past Blue Pool, the guest heard a large branch break about 50 feet into the woods. He saw a light-brown vertical silhouette that walked toward the highway. He ran to get ahead of it but found nothing and returned to his family.

The witness was driving home at night with three children when headlights revealed an upright figure crossing the highway ahead. The figure crossed two lanes in two long strides and disappeared into roadside trees despite the witness slowing to look. The witness and two of the children reported seeing the same figure and could offer no other explanation for its height and stride.

On the morning of October 5 2009 the witness and a companion were driving toward a hunting area when two black upright figures about seven feet tall ran across the road and into dense brush. The witness drove closer and then got out to listen but heard nothing and the figures were gone. The party left the woods that night and returned days later with a relative to find odor, snapped small trees, a possible print, and scat.

On Mother's Day 2009 under bright moonlight, the guest's group of five smelled a foul odor and watched a black mass on all fours swaying 60 yards away. It went behind trees and then stood up, showing arms, shoulders and head silhouetted with shoulder sheen before walking gracefully away. Laser measurement later put the distance at 63 yards with 19-inch weathered prints, suggesting about 9.5 feet tall.

Two companions were driving west on Highway 26 after a fishing trip when they slowed near stopped cars. An ape-like creature sprang from the woods very close to their car and ran behind it across the road from north to south, moving on its knuckles with unusual quickness and nearly being hit by a following car. Other stopped drivers honked during the crossing.

The morning after a night of knocking sounds at a remote ridge camp, the witness and a companion were driving out on a logging road when a very tall dark figure ran across the road ahead of them and disappeared into the trees. They stopped at the crossing point and searched the uphill slope, where the witness found and videotaped an 18-inch barefoot-like track in moss along with other partial marks, and heard something noisy move away through the forest.

A driver rounding an uphill hairpin turn noticed a tall hairy human-like figure standing behind trees on the hillside above the road. The figure turned and ran uphill through steep brush with remarkable speed and disappeared within seconds. The driver called a relative, returned to the site, spoke with officers there, and later documented the area on video.

The witness and her daughter stopped at a park outside Cave Junction in winter and walked down to the river. The witness noticed a very large dark human-like figure wading in the river at a distance, appearing to look down and move toward them. After the figure looked up, the witness panicked, yelled to run, and they fled to the car and drove back toward town.

After hiking to the road at night, a tall hairy biped ran toward him, stopped about 100 feet away breathing heavily, then bounded across the road and brush without an audible landing. The witness then heard chattering sounds surrounding him while walking out.

The witness was driving east on Highway 138 near Cascade Summit Pass in the early evening. About 50 yards ahead, a large very dark humanoid figure emerged from the woods and crossed the roadway to the south with long, fast strides. It disappeared into the woods before the witness reached the spot and appeared dark from head to foot.

The witness let dogs out at camp and walked up the hill behind the trailer to find a small dog. While resting near a rock face, the witness heard the dog bark, looked back, and saw a tall black figure running down the hill. The witness followed the sound of it crashing through brush to a clearing below, where the noise stopped.

The witness was elk hunting with a companion in the evening near a pickup. After hearing loud movement coming downhill, the witness briefly saw a bipedal figure running along a ridge through burned trees, then heard loud screams. The companion also heard the screams over the radio and in person as they met to discuss it.

The witness was driving while towing a trailer to a campsite with his wife and daughter when he and his wife saw a pitch-black hair-covered figure by the highway. The figure stepped from the road into the forest and was gone when they looked for a person or vehicle nearby. The witness returned about an hour later to search for tracks but found none because the ground was dry and hard.

The witness was driving west before dawn when a dark, hairy biped crossed the road in front of the vehicle. The figure crossed from left to right in a few strides and disappeared over the roadside bank. After stopping and backing up to the spot, the witness reported a musty smell, faint brush movement, and a feeling of being watched before driving away.

The crossing lasted about three seconds and the companion was certain it was on two legs. The companion became frightened and urged them to keep driving as fast as possible.

The witness and two companions hiked to a remote lake for a day of fishing while camped at the trailhead. After another family with dogs left, the group noticed a tall hairy figure watching from the treeline. The figure walked quickly to the water, knelt to drink several times while looking around, then left into the forest. The group stayed still, later fired guns to make noise, and left the area early.

The witness was fishing from one bank of a wide swift river when two loud branch snaps were heard from brush across the river. While watching that bank, the witness saw a bipedal figure move through a clearing for about three seconds from about 25 yards away. The figure was described as barrel-chested with no neck, first thought to be a man but then interpreted as having a sasquatch profile.

The witness was home alone in the evening when something struck the locked front door hard. She heard a low grunting or growling sound and then saw a pair of slanted eyes and a hairy head staring at her from a few feet away in the dark. She watched the motionless figure for an estimated ten minutes. Police arrived hours later on foot and found nothing.
