Woman reports sighting at the edge of backyard
On a sunny mid-July 2004 afternoon the witness went to sit on the back porch after the dogs barked then whined at the dog door. From about 200-300 yards away she watched a tall rust-colored hairy biped peeking around a tree and swaying to watch her for about six minutes, later stepping in front of the tree while staying hunched. After checking children in the front yard she found it gone, and later found flattened grass and knapweed at the tree.
Woman reports riverbank sighting
The witness was driving west across a bridge over a river with a companion on a sunny afternoon when she looked toward a sandbar and saw two reddish-brown hair-covered figures. The larger figure stood behind a much smaller one with arms outstretched and stepped forward while the smaller one leaned toward the water. The sighting lasted only seconds before the view was blocked, and the figures were gone when she recrossed the bridge about half an hour later.

The witness was traveling through Glacier National Park in 2003 and recorded video from a tourist bridge over a river. Nothing was noticed at the time, but months later during tape review the witness saw a small figure moving downhill through trees on the far bank. A copy was sent for review, described as an apparent biped running downhill, pausing briefly behind trees before leaving sight, with very little detail due to distance.

The witness and a companion were driving east on a highway in Montana in the early morning. They saw a large reddish-brown hair-covered biped walking along a fenceline about 100 to 150 yards away. The animal took long strides and did not appear to notice the vehicle. They kept driving and watched it for only a few seconds without stopping.

The witness was staying at a gold mining camp with a companion in the summer of 1994. In the afternoon the companion was down by the creek while the witness was on a gravel road and saw a tall dark upright figure cross the road toward the creek and disappear into forest. The figure paused and looked at the witness and did not appear afraid.

Three backpackers waited out a storm below tree line, then continued hiking out toward the trailhead near sunset. As they crossed a logged clearing they heard thrashing and a howl, then saw a massive dark biped run through brush about 60 yards away into the forest. After hearing another distant howl from the opposite direction, they left the area quickly.

The witness was riding horseback on a game trail while scouting for an elk hunt when the horse became nervous and looked left. About 25 to 30 feet away, the witness saw a hair-covered entity crouching behind the root ball of a downed pine tree and made eye contact with it. The witness avoided sudden moves, continued riding past, and left the area.

Two people scouting a cliffband saw a dark form by a lone tree on a flat buttress about 300-400 yards away. The form swayed, then stood up and walked with fluid motion into the timber in a few strides. Later at their truck about three-quarters of a mile away, their dog growled toward the woods and they left quickly.

While on leave the guest hiked with his friend and his friend's family in Montana. After a water break the friend's father spotted something watching them. The guest only saw the rear of a large muscular creature disappear into brush, which the father identified as a Sasquatch that dropped to all fours.

Two days after a distant sighting, the witness and companions were walking back toward the cabin across a field on a sunny day. About 50 yards away they saw a creature sitting on an old tree stump just inside the woods watching them. The witness said it turned by moving its whole upper torso as if it had no neck, then looked back before the group fled.
Horse-riding witnesses see hairy bipedal animal cross trail on Blackfeet Reservation
The witness and cousins were riding horses home through a brushy trail in the evening when their horses became agitated. A very tall, very hairy bipedal figure ran beside them, crossed the trail about 40 feet ahead, paused at the brush edge to stare, then disappeared into trees. The group returned the next day and found high broken branches and footprints.

The witness and a companion were driving on the interstate at night when headlights lit up a white erect figure over six feet tall on a nearby mountainside. The figure appeared to be watching highway traffic and was visible for only a few seconds in the dark. Both occupants noticed it and verbally confirmed to each other that they had seen it.

On a winter night around 11:30 p.m., the witness was traveling home from work near Sidney, Montana when a tall light-haired biped crossed the highway ahead at the end of a coulee guardrail section and continued north without looking toward the witness. The figure was described as well over six feet tall with hair that was darker at the skin than at the tips. The witness was traveling alone, was frightened by the encounter, and did not return the next day to look for tracks in the snow.

On opening morning of deer season two cousins riding in the back of a pickup scanning a sage meadow spotted a large dark figure about 250 yards away. They watched it for about 10 seconds as it faced them, slightly bent forward with an arm on its knee, appearing motionless. When the truck stopped and backed up to regain the view the figure was gone. The cousins continued hunting that morning while feeling as if watched.
Boy Scouts watch creature eating leaves along Dearborn River
As a child attending a Scout Jamboree, the witness says a friend led him to a river where they watched a roughly 6-foot-tall gorilla-like animal across the water. The animal stood upright with its back to them, plucking leaves with its hands and eating for a couple minutes before walking into brush. They stayed in the area for several days afterward but never saw it again.

Five campers in Montana left their camp during a nighttime thunderstorm and saw a huge upright creature by a tree. After shotgun shots were fired nearby to scare it, the creature charged toward their car taking very long strides. They escaped by driving away when it was about 20 feet from the vehicle.

The witness was fly-fishing at night along the river below Hauser Dam and walked back to his lamp on a boulder to retie a fly. He shone the lamp on movement about 10 feet away and watched a large hairy biped move rapidly up the steep rocky bank and disappear within seconds. Afterward he noticed two of his four pooled trout were missing and heard a boulder crash downstream, then left with the remaining fish.

When the witness was about 10 or 11, they were riding a horse through a meadow bordering wilderness near Missoula in summer. The horse stopped and the witness saw a tall figure peeking from behind a tree about 10 feet away. The figure stood silently watching, and the witness turned the horse around and rode home.

The guest, then 18, watched from a cliff ridge through a rifle scope as a man-like figure carried a deer at full speed across a valley. The figure kept looking toward him, then ran up a steep mountain without slowing, tossing the deer up a four-foot ledge and jumping after it. He told others afterward and was dismissed.
