The witness and a younger relative parked and hiked toward a beaver dam meadow. The relative heard knocking sounds and then saw a tall hunched hair-covered figure with striking yellow eyes watching from the treeline, while the witness smelled a strong odor and the dog barked and kept looking back. The group walked back to the truck without running while hearing twigs snapping behind them, and later wondered if they had disturbed the animal while feeding.

In July 2007 the witness and a companion were riding ATVs back toward camp in the evening when the witness noticed a low shape beside the trail. The witness was driving home at night with four relatives when the group noticed something beside the road. The driver turned around and approached on foot with a flashlight, then saw a large dark-haired animal stand upright about 30 feet away in a borrow pit. The witness and his wife were sleeping in their truck on a mountain ridgeline when they felt strongly uneasy and decided to drive down. A short distance downhill they saw a large brown furry figure in the trail briefly before it left the trail into the trees, bending a small fir. The witness searched with a flashlight but saw and heard nothing further and felt the animal might be hiding nearby, so they left the area.

Two companions resting on a high rock overlook watched a large dark biped and a smaller blonde biped moving below in a clear-cut and on a fire road. Over about 20 minutes the figures foraged, interacted closely, and walked erect toward and past the observers before disappearing behind trees. Later the same day the witnesses returned to the spot and reported crushed grass, long stride impressions, and large and small bare footprints.

The witness and three companions were socializing at a gravel turnout late at night. The witness noticed a tall, solid-black, man-like outline about 15 yards away behind a boulder barrier. After about five seconds, the figure turned and walked on two legs down a ledge and into the tree line. Two companions also reported seeing it, while the third companion did not see it before it disappeared.

The witness was driving with companions toward Potlatch when a large dark figure appeared by the road. The figure crossed the highway in three long steps, swinging its long arms, then crossed a ditch and disappeared into the pine forest. The witnesses looked but did not see it again in the woods.

During the annual week-long elk hunt with his long-time hunting partner, the witness waited in a concealed roadside alcove while his partner still-hunted the opposite side of a brushy clearcut canyon and reported via radio a dark upright figure moving toward the witness. The figure crossed the road about 30 yards from the witness in a few silent steps and dropped into the canyon, after which both hunters left for camp. After returning on ATVs to measure a branch the figure had passed under they saw the figure standing across the canyon watching them before it walked into timber, after which they packed up and the witness stopped hunting.

Two hikers on a trail above a mountain lake at midday looked down and saw two brown fur-covered bipeds standing with a quadruped in grass by the water. The group fled on noticing the hikers, the two bipeds running upright and jumping over logs while the quadruped trailed behind. The hikers watched for about 15 seconds until the group entered trees and then debated what they had seen without approaching.

The witness was cutting firewood and loading blocks into a truck when a very foul odor suddenly appeared. Looking around, the witness saw a brown-furred biped about 100 feet away walking up a slope out of a ravine with its back turned. The creature briefly steadied itself with a hand on a tree and continued uphill without looking at the witness. Frightened, the witness finished loading quickly and left the area.

The witness and a hunting companion were talking in the bed of a pickup while camped after bow hunting near Crooked Creek on a bright moonlit night. About 20 yards away they watched a two-legged figure peek from behind a cottonwood tree, then run to hide behind another cottonwood. Feeling unsafe with only a bow, they shouted about having guns and then left, driving 25 miles to sleep elsewhere.

About 200 feet away in the river, a creature that had been hunched over stood on two legs and looked at the witness. The pair heard movement around camp all night and the next day found freshly twisted tree limbs nearby but no usable tracks due to dry ground.
