Northeast Washington resident sees a bigfoot looking in the window
In late June or early July 1981, the witness was sleeping on the floor of a friend's home when awakened by an unusual humming and grumbling sound. She saw the outline of a large broad-shouldered figure with a muscular arm and hand cupped to look through a high upper window, which she estimated would require at least seven feet of height. The figure looked in for about a minute, then walked around the house into the woods as the humming resumed. A search the next morning found no tracks in the hard-packed dirt.

Four witnesses walking upstream along a creek heard rustling that kept pace with them from across the water. They then saw a hair-covered face peering at them through bushes a short distance away, which appeared two more times as they continued. Frightened by being followed and by the creek ending in a swamp ahead, they ran back to camp and later told their parents.

While fishing about forty yards apart on a riverbank, the witness and a relative felt watched and noticed movement in brush at the base of a cliff. The pair fled down a trail toward camp, and the witness looked back to see a large hair-covered arm and hand reaching out of the brush right behind him before it disappeared. The next day they returned and found indistinct tracks in soft dirt at the bottom of the cliff face.

In the summer of 1979 or 1980, the witness was fly fishing at a lake near Mt. Jupiter while camping with a companion. He noticed in peripheral vision a reddish-brown figure moving around a recently vacated campsite and then striding rapidly into the woods. He realized afterward the stride and arm swing seemed unusual and compared it to the Patterson film he had seen earlier. He and his companion later checked the rocky campsite but found no tracks.
Two backpackers see a large, dark, human-like form on a narrow trail
The witness and a companion were descending from a mountain summit in the afternoon when the witness noticed a dark humanlike figure standing in the pass above them. Both watched as the figure waved its very long arms up and down over its head in a way they felt was threatening. Clouds then covered the pass, and the two continued down to the trailhead.

The witness, then nine years old, was traveling with family on Highway 141 to collect rocks on the morning Mount St. Helens erupted. From about 200 yards away the witness saw a very tall, big brown figure run across the highway in two steps with arms swinging during an observation of about two seconds. The parents, who were looking out the side windows, did not see the figure.

An almost-black figure partway across the road heading uphill paused to look at the car, then ran bipedally downhill into thick brush and disappeared. During a nighttime military evasion exercise, the witness walked forward to look for his sergeant and heard heavy footsteps. A large dark hulking figure appeared briefly at the end of a clearing about 50 feet away and ran about 20 feet into the woods. The sergeant arrived from another angle and also reported seeing a dark form running away, and both later agreed it was not a deer, bear, human or other animal.

Two people hunting elk with muzzle-loaders waited by a river until near dark and then started hiking out along the river. The person in the lead came face-to-face at very close range with a tall creature with glowing red eyes. The creature turned and left silently within seconds, and the pair waited before hiking out to their truck.

A child playing a night game ran behind a maintenance shed and heard gravel move. About ten feet away, a huge dark figure crouched at chained garbage cans rose smoothly to stand very tall. The witness fled to tell adults, who suggested it was a bear or a person watching the children.
Close range daylight encounter involving two young teenage sisters near Fort Lewis
Two sisters had stopped with family in woods for a bathroom break while driving home from a camping trip and were walking back to their truck when they turned to see a large hairy figure leaning against a tree about 20 feet away watching them. They walked quickly back to the truck without running. When the witness grabbed a camera to photograph it, the figure was gone, and their father dismissed the report and told them to leave.
Truck driver has brief roadside sighting
The witness was driving south in a delivery truck in daylight when he noticed a large dark figure standing motionless by the roadside ahead. As he approached, the figure turned away and disappeared into dense timber within a few steps, swinging its arms. The witness slowed but did not stop to search, and the sedan ahead did not appear to react.
Daylight observation from Beacon Rock, along the Columbia River
From atop Beacon Rock, the witness watched a huge black figure climb a railroad bed in two strides and then stride across a pasture toward the river, passing among cows that looked only half its height and seemed undisturbed. A smaller figure that moved on all fours trailed behind it. The larger figure squatted for a time at a tributary before crossing back across the meadow and being lost from view.

She froze and then screamed, and the creature reacted with surprise and fled on two legs. In 1977 the witness, an Army instructor at Fort Lewis, was alone grading trainees on a night exercise when he smelled a foul rotten-egg odor and heard brush rustling and branches breaking. He saw a pair of eyes staring at him as a creature moved left to right in front of him, then left the area, after which the odor and sounds stopped. He was frightened and hid, and a next-day search found no tracks.
Late night sighting on Highway 101 in between Forks and Kalaloch
The witness was riding as a passenger on a late-night drive between Forks and Kalaloch when she noticed a small upright figure standing on the right shoulder. As the car passed very close, she looked directly at its face for a few seconds while it stood still with its arms moving in front of its face. A companion who was driving did not see it. She later came to believe it was a young Sasquatch and stated it was not any known regional animal.
