They watched a light moving like a satellite that stopped, changed direction, bounced around the sky, then accelerated away much faster. A group camping with horses heard the horses startle something at dusk and then saw a huge brown figure about 6 feet tall running extremely fast across a meadow away from the horses in a cloud of dust. One tethered horse was so frightened it jumped over another horse. The witness concluded the figure could not have been a bear because of the sound it made and the way it ran.

At about age 12-13 the witness returned alone to a stream and rock in dense woods behind the campground. From about 15 feet away she saw a long dark-haired arm with long fingers wrapped around a pine beside the trail, then a flat dark face peer out and make eye contact. She fled past the tree back to the family trailer and stayed there for the rest of the vacation without telling her parents at the time.

While driving on a dirt road toward a campsite near Kennedy Meadows at dusk, the witness saw a large, hairy figure running among Joshua trees about 100 yards away. The figure moved north on two legs and then disappeared from view when the witness looked again after speaking to a passenger. The witness continued to the campsite and told the rest of the group about the sighting.

Early one morning in 1972 or 1973 the witness rode with a relative toward a hunting area when headlights revealed an animal leaving an orchard and crossing the road on all fours. The animal turned its head toward the vehicle, showing teeth, then went into a ditch, stood upright and stepped over a fence before disappearing from view. The relative acknowledged an animal crossing but did not see the upright movement and later did not recall the event.
