A deer hunter in scent-masking clothes and a ghillie suit was set up on a rock overlooking a saddle at daybreak. A large dark ape-like animal threw a stick that landed behind him, then charged after he shouted and pointed his muzzleloader. He fired in front of it to deter it; it stopped, stood, grunted, and a smaller one emerged crying before both left. He abandoned his gear and found it ransacked the next day.

A couple driving north on a highway in the morning reported seeing a large, apelike bipedal figure moving slowly south through a palmetto and scrub field near a highway billboard. The sighting lasted only a few seconds at highway speed. Their impression was that it was tall and uniformly brownish, with brush coming up to its thighs.

Late in November 2006 the witness was visiting a relative in Yerington, Nevada, standing outside at night with four young relatives when animals began making noise. The group looked past a corral into the desert in bright moonlight and watched a large dark shaggy bipedal creature run quickly across the field with a stooped posture. The witness was at a wooded church camp at night when a tall black-haired biped trotted across about 50 feet away for about seven seconds. The witness noted a dome-like head, very large shoulders, and long arms hanging straight down while the shoulders twisted with movement. About a minute later a strong foul odor was noticed, followed minutes later by a series of loud hoots. The next morning the witness found large human-like barefoot tracks in sand.

The figure was briefly seen while driving past and appeared to be waiting to cross. He viewed it in left-side profile for only two to three seconds as he passed, noting its tall lean build, long arms, slouched posture, and thigh hair. When he checked the rear mirror it was gone, and a return visit the next day found only a well-used trail.
