The witness and a companion camped for two nights beside a lake in pine forest. On both nights they exchanged wood knocks with unseen sources and heard a whoop, and something large walked past their tent. On the second night they watched red eyes near camp, then heard a very close loud grunt and packed up and left feeling unwelcome.

Near his car he saw a fur-covered bipedal figure about 50 feet away in pines, watched it briefly, then it noticed him and ran toward the woods and field. Two companions hunting grouse in a remote swampy forest heard repeated loud howls and sensed a large animal moving nearby. They left their birds behind and headed toward the exit trail while the animal paralleled them through dense brush, stopping when they stopped. In a backlit clearing they observed the full outline of a tall, dark, hair-covered biped that crossed difficult terrain with remarkable speed. The animal ceased following as they reached a more traveled ridge trail.

The witness had left a pack with clothes and snacks at his deer stand the day before opening weekend and had noticed snacks missing in prior years. Approaching the stand over a ridge, he heard banging and watched a small ape-like juvenile jumping on the stand, swinging from a branch and climbing the ladder for several minutes. When it noticed him it made a low distress call, followed by an extremely loud roar from a wooded island about 100 yards away that he felt in his chest. He fled immediately and returned about a week later to find the stand torn down and the pack and contents shredded over a wide area.

After turning on the light, they reported seeing three bipedal creatures with widely spaced orange-rimmed eyes peering through the screen, one stooping to look in.
