Daytime sighting on the edge of Lost Lake, near the Continental Divide
In the early afternoon the witness hiked from one high mountain lake toward nearby Lost Lake. Near a boulder about 20 yards away the witness saw a large hairy biped that crouched, looked toward the lake and the witness, then stood and walked briskly into trees out of earshot. The witness estimated the encounter lasted 8 to 12 seconds and then left the area quickly without following.
Observations by locals along the San Juan River
The witness reports a large hairy thing that walks along the San Juan River onto the reservation and is known to local residents. The thing is said to smell strongly, make loud noises that set dogs howling, and appear every few years near the witness home about an eighth-mile from the river. Residents avoid going down to the river because of its presence.
Campers menaced after dark by what they assume was a family group
A group camping above a swollen river heard mumbling voices and stick-breaking approaching, followed by loud chanting, shouting and stomping that shook a log seat and was taken as a demand to leave. The sounds stopped after deep hooted calls and later receded to distant screams up the valley and across the mountain. Later, while in a tent, the witness saw the firelight blocked by a squatting silhouette that touched the zipper with five digits, with felt breath and strong odor, before withdrawing. In the morning the witness noted hairs and deep depressions on the trail.
Sasquatch sighting (1995)
The guest was dropped off to hunt alone from a ground blind on a wooded mountaintop. He watched a large hair-covered biped for about 45 minutes as it struck trees with a rock and listened, pushed over a tree to extract a small mammal, killed and ate it, and dug with a stick. The animal later moved around the mountain, after which deer ran past and the frightened guest waited in a tree until his companion retrieved him.

In 1994 the witness was hunting on a farm in Florida when a strong foul odor was noticed. Shortly after turning a curve, the witness saw a tall brown bipedal animal about 40 yards away that turned and ran very quickly into the woods. A deep grunt-like vocalization was also heard. The witness did not shoot, citing uncertainty about what it was.

In the fall of 1994 the witness walked into the woods behind the home at night with a flashlight and shotgun to scare deer away. He shone the light on a tall, broad, fur-covered figure standing still in brush whose eyes reflected the light. The figure grunted, yelled and moved toward him, the witness fired three times at close range then fled to the house, hearing it run and give a long loud warbling yell.

When the witness was 11, he stopped to tie his boot while hiking down a mountain trail with family and friends and saw a large black hairy biped downhill about 50 feet away. The creature moved onto the trail to block him, dropped to all fours, made a low bellowing monkey-like sound and curled its lip. The witness fled uphill along the ridge for about two and a half to three hours while the creature paced him at a distance, shook brush and tossed sticks and a small log toward him, and was seen again briefly from the chest up. As rain began the sounds grew more distant, allowing him to return to the trailhead where a search had started, and he told family he had been chased by a bear.
Memory told of a nighttime encounter at close range near Blairsville
Two companions were walking at night toward a house when a noise at the treeline drew their attention. One companion fled while the witness briefly watched a huge dark-haired figure step down an embankment into the road about 30 feet away, hearing a grunt and smelling a musky pine odor. Both ran to the house and dogs chased the figure, with sounds of a violent struggle including roaring and shrieks before the dogs returned, one injured and another with blood on its mouth.
Odor near Pike County (1994)
For six to eight months an elderly farmer and his wife reported nightly tapping that followed them room to room, shadows outside windows, a barn door torn open, missing dog food and missing outdoor dogs, and a low voice whispering the indoor dog's name. The responding deputy initially suspected neighbors, moonshiners or a grow operation, but later found a large hand-like dent in the house and an 18-inch footprint in the creek that he cast. The cast was later reported to show dermal ridges and to be considered authentic east of the Mississippi.
Howl near Mount Laguna, California (1994)
The witness and his wife spent a weekend camping in 1994 at Laguna Mountain where the campground was empty. At night they heard wolf-like howls and the next day on a desert trail they found crossed dead trees, heard loud animal cries, and watched a distant reddish hair-covered figure standing and slamming backward into a tree, which they first took for a bear. A ranger insisted there were no wolves or bears in the area. On the second night rustling around the tent and sudden overwhelming fear caused them to abandon camp and drive home in the early morning.

At age 8 the witness was walking at night near a relative's property, heard a stirring and then low tones, and saw a tall shadowy figure with red-glowing eyes on a steep hillside that slowly backed away uphill. Later that same evening while the family car was paused on the driveway, the witness again saw the shadow and eyes from the window. The family dismissed the account, and the witness reports occasional similar figures, eyes and sounds in the area since.
Deer hunter recalls possible early morning encounter near Boone Lake
The witness was deer hunting alone before dawn from a rock above a game trail. A figure approached uphill in a zigzag while making stepping sounds and low grunts and growls, then stopped a few feet away at eye level for about 20 seconds. After the witness coughed and waved, the figure turned and walked away bipedally out of sight and hearing.

While archery deer hunting on a trail in the morning, the witness reported feeling watched before seeing a creature walking rapidly toward him down the same trail. The creature approached for several seconds before turning off the trail and disappearing over a ridge about 70-80 yards away. The witness followed to the ridge top but left after hearing a grunt-like sound.
Cryptid sighting in Indiana (1993)
The witness had been dropped on the Indiana side of the Ohio River to hunt for arrowheads and stopped to rest and eat in a runoff channel. Two small human-like figures about three feet tall, dressed in breechcloths and leggings, walked around the edge into view. After a brief buzzing or humming sound and mutual staring, both turned and walked away without alarm.
Vocalization near Bowie, Texas (1993)
The witness arrived with a companion at a house after a Christmas party and heard an odd duck-like sound. The companion stopped while the witness kept walking toward the sound. Two drivers at a nearby intersection reported something huge walking between their trucks toward the witness, then running away so fast it outpaced a truck down an alley.

The witness was walking alone during a work break to look for arrowheads when he heard movement and grunts near a creek. He briefly saw a large dark man-shaped figure about 6 to 7 feet tall standing in dense woods before it turned and crashed away. He left quickly and initially tried to explain it as a stray horse.
Sasquatch sighting in Pennsylvania (1992)
The witness was working with a pipeline crew exposing a remote valve site over three days. On the first day a coworker reported a dark figure walking on the cleared right-of-way up the ridge. The next day the witness hiked up the same ridge alone, heard two loud ground-shaking stomps followed by a very loud guttural vocalization, and fled downhill. The following morning the soiled sock the witness had discarded on the ridge was found placed on the backhoe track at the job site below.

While walking out on a remote logging road after discovering flat tires, the witness confronted a black bear that kept approaching despite shouting. A large hairy biped rushed down the hill on all fours, landed in the road and slid, causing the bear to flee. The biped then stood, stared, and bluff-charged twice with loud vocalizations until the witness fled on foot and was later picked up by drivers in a pickup.

Four companions camping overnight found a large fresh footprint in mud during the afternoon. Late at night they heard prolonged bark-like screams from two directions, then encountered a tall hairy figure at close range with a flashlight. The figure left up a steep bank, and the group retreated to their car while vocalizations followed them and displaced tires blocked the road.
Morning encounter with a moose hunter in northern Ontario
While hunting moose by ATV the witness stopped on a trail for a snack while a companion rode ahead to scout. After hearing brush movement and heavy footsteps, the witness saw a tall, muscular, dark-haired biped step onto the trail, look toward the companion's direction and then at the witness, sniff and grunt, then walk silently across a meadow into thick brush. After the companion returned they found only indistinct marks and disturbed vegetation, then heard a single loud crack like wood being struck and fled the area.
