Sasquatch sighting in Kentucky (1980)
In 1980 two men claiming to be Smithsonian field agents visited the grandmother's farm for two days after magazine coverage. They toured the garden and orchard, noted twisted limbs, cast footprints and a supposed sitting impression, collected hair and produce, and recorded audio. At night the family showed them figures with a spotlight, with up to three seen, and the visitors played a scream recording that was followed by distant chatter.

Children were chased by a tall creature with bright red eyes that ran up a stream close to them. When one child fell, the creature stopped chasing and simply watched from a short distance as they fled.

Two brothers riding an ATV on their wooded property in winter saw a large dark creature moving through pine trees about 75 yards away. The witness described it as at least 6 to 7 feet tall, stocky, with dark brown medium-length hair, but could not discern facial features. Frightened, they fled back to the house without returning to check for tracks.
Pre-dawn road-crossing sighting by motorists outside Oronogo
In 1980 the witness was driving with a relative in the early morning to catch a bus for a trip when a brown, hairy form crossed their path near a small wooden bridge over a creek. The witness reported seeing only from the foot to the ankle in dim car lights while the companion reported seeing up to the knee, and the form crossed in about three strides. Both occupants were awestruck and left quickly without further observation.

The witness and a friend climbed to the top of a rock to watch a jet boat speed attempt on the lake. When two other men joined them on top, the witness and his friend saw a large hairy figure standing behind them. They looked at each other and back again, and it was gone, and neither spoke about it at the time.

The guest's mother was waiting on an idling snowmobile atop a hill in the high Uintas while the stepfather walked up. She noticed a bulky figure to her left that she first took for another snowmobiler but then judged too large and bulky. When she looked away to call out and looked back, the figure was gone, and she did not mention it until that evening.

A long-time mine operator recalled working at the bottom of a long metal tunnel when he sensed a presence and looked up to see a tall figure bent over to peer through the tall doorway. When he waved and shouted, the figure quickly left. He later realized its height must have exceeded the doorway because it had to stoop.

As retold by the witness from her mother, her grandfather and another person went to the barn and saw a creature snatch a large hog from underneath the farm. The account was used to explain why large tracks in the area frightened her.
Camper has night sighting near Crater Lake
The witness was camping with relatives south of Crater Lake and sleeping alone in a tent at night. While lying in a sleeping bag, the witness heard footsteps approach from the wooded side and saw a human-like outline shadowed in a distant campfire glow. The figure bumped the corner of the tent, shaking it, paused as if staring, then moved toward the front where it could no longer be heard on pavement.
Family sees an upright figure covered with black hair that walks across the road in front of their car
The witness was riding in the back seat while two relatives drove home at night. An upright, black-haired figure crossed the road 20 to 50 feet in front of the car. The witness saw little of it, while a parent described it as ape-like with dragging arms and taller than a 6-foot-9 relative.
Sighting by two teenagers in woods near Albion
The witness and a companion were walking through an overgrown orchard near the witness's home in late afternoon when they heard a loud stomping sound nearby. They then saw the partial rear view of a large upright hair-covered animal moving away into dense brush while making a guttural sound, and both fled to the house. Deep ground impressions, broken trees, and loud screams were also noted around the time of the encounter.

Four people parked in a car by a small pond at night heard a loud growl from across the water. When headlights were turned on they saw a large dark hairy figure with a cone-shaped head and green eyes that moved its head and made grunting sounds. After difficulty starting the car, they heard a loud prolonged roar and saw the figure still there as they drove away.

The witness returned to a secluded previously logged area to hunt with a dog. About 100 yards away, a dark brown hair-covered figure was seen crouching behind brush and staring at the witness and dog. The dog froze with raised fur and refused to advance. After a brief look through a rifle scope noting human-like eyes and black facial skin, the witness smelled strong body odor and quickly left the area.

On a summer evening in the late 1970s, the witness rode a bicycle onto an abandoned railroad-bed trail near woods. Behind dumped washers and dryers the witness saw a hair-covered figure that stood upright, grunted, and shook a sapling. The witness fled east, looked back to see the figure on the trail, then watched it walk back into the treeline.

The witness and extended family had arrived late for a summer visit at the grandparents' mountain home and were talking inside. An older relative noticed something at the high kitchen window, prompting several men to go outside with firearms. The grandfather fired a shotgun toward the rear of the house while the witness, locked out front, saw the outline of a shoulder and head with reflective eyes near the roofline. The group regrouped inside, and dogs normally around the house were absent that night but returned frightened in the morning.
Encounter with Juvenile Creature
In 1979 the witness had moved ahead of a hiking group in the Adirondacks to watch beavers and was walking back to the main trail. Something flushed from thick brush ran diagonally toward the witness on the trail, pounding loudly and wailing like a woman screaming, and was seen partially as a fast, upright furry figure about four and a half feet tall. The witness initially assumed a bear cub but later doubted that because it ran upright for about 150 feet and the vocalization resembled sounds associated with Bigfoot reports.

While camping with companions the group heard unintelligible chatter from across a lake, later had small rocks lobbed near them, and the witness saw the head and upper body of a dark hair-covered creature at close range.
Memory told of a possible daylight sighting as a child on Mount Graham
As a 10-year-old visiting Mount Graham with relatives, the witness sat alone on a fallen tree with her back to an upslope boulder. She felt she was being watched, glanced behind her, and saw a large dark hair-covered creature standing upright partly behind the boulder about fifteen feet away. After a second or two she ran to her family, who dismissed her account.
Family has encounters with a large, hair covered creature just on the edge of Wayne National Forest
Late one spring night in 1979, the witness and a sibling were in bed in a downstairs bedroom when they saw a tall hairy figure looking in the window and then at the back door apparently trying to get inside. Their mother also saw the figure at the back door and called out for help before contacting the sheriff. Deputies searched the surrounding woods but reportedly found only a burned area of ground from apparent vomit and a small knocked-down tree.
