The witness was asleep in a tent when rocks struck the tent. He looked out and saw a large hair-covered figure in nearby brush staring at him, then shouted and woke his tent companion. In the morning the group found disturbed brush and stones beside both tents but no footprints, and left instead of staying another night.

On the evening of Feb. 16, 2009, the reporter's brother called to say he had seen an unknown figure in his yard near his chicken house. The figure was in profile and angled so it could watch the house and driveway, appeared aware of being seen, and was gone when the brother stepped onto his screened porch after yelling. The witness and her father were walking back to the trailhead parking area at night when the father noticed eyeshine in the trees to the side of the trail about 30-40 feet away. With headlamps on, they both observed shining eyes and the outline of a rounded head that turned to look at them before they turned their lights off. The figure then walked away downhill with heavy deliberate bipedal steps, paused, and remained nearby while the witness spoke softly before they left quietly. After returning home they photographed smudge marks on their vehicle that had not been noticed earlier.

The witness stepped outside for a brief nighttime smoke break and noticed movement in the front yard. He turned to see the back, shoulders and head of a very large, hunched, hair-covered creature retreating behind bushes near a yard light. In moonlight they noticed a large, broad, dark shape about six feet tall moving on two legs among the trees near camp, which appeared to stop, look toward them, and sway. With no other campers present, the couple became spooked, packed up, and left.

The witness sat on the front porch steps in the evening and saw a tall hairy figure standing in the woods near the chicken coop, which then ran away. After it left, knocking sounds were heard from the woods. Shortly before, a relative had been growled at near the coop and had retrieved a firearm.

Late at night the witness was summoned to the back porch by a relative and shone a spotlight toward a large oak about 30 yards away. A tall hair-covered upright figure stood partly behind the tree, repeatedly peeking out as the light moved, then stepped fully into view facing them before retreating behind the tree and fleeing through the woods. The next morning the witness found two large footprints behind the tree and another unclear print nearby.

A couple camping on an isolated site finished dinner and sat by a campfire when the wife felt watched and fearful. The husband searched with lights and briefly saw movement in the trees about 30 feet away, including what looked like a large dark lower leg. While inside the trailer the wife heard two to three whooping sounds from that wooded area.

The witness was driving west on a highway in the afternoon when he noticed a stationary stocky figure covered in reddish long hair standing beyond a fallow field in front of woods. He saw only the upper body and head for about three seconds before a bank and foliage blocked the view. His companion was asleep and saw nothing, and he was unable to stop or return to the location.

The witness was riding at the back of a large group of ATVs at night through a muddy, wooded trail. As he approached a large tree, he made eye contact with a tall, muscular, hair-covered figure pressed flat against the tree with its hands on the trunk. After a stare lasting about 15 seconds, the witness rode past within a few feet, looked back, and saw the figure take one quick step and disappear into the darkness.

The witness was riding in the back seat of a car traveling west in the early morning. After noticing a strong rotten-egg and wet-dog odor, the witness saw a large dark hair-covered figure standing by a palm 300-500 yards away and facing the road. The view lasted only a few seconds before roadside trees blocked it. After turning around and returning, the figure was gone but a strange smell lingered.

The witness awoke in a truck at a forest campsite around dawn and briefly saw a dark figure run between a tent and a parked vehicle. She first thought it was a companion, but the companion was elsewhere in camp and moved more slowly. The figure was visible only for a fraction of a second from the torso up and was not seen again. No footprints were found afterward despite wet ground.

The witness camped alone at a remote alpine lake and saw a black shiny shape on a ridge during a day hike that stayed motionless when called to. That evening while cooking the witness heard a loud screech, then after dark was awakened by extremely loud cracks followed by falling rocks, with a second closer event about 40 minutes later. The witness stayed awake afraid until daylight and left quickly in the morning.

It stopped by the roadside very close to the car and stared at them with eyeshine while holding a watermelon. After they passed, his mother sped away and both confirmed they saw the same human-like, muscular being.
