Wood knock in California
Two friends camped off a gated logging road after noticing a possible tree structure. At night they heard knocks and breaking sticks, saw green eyeshine uphill, and the co-witness saw a smaller black creature with red eyes moving between trees. After a loud scream, they fled in their vehicle and both saw a very large gray-skinned creature in the headlights, then left the area.

After visiting a haunted museum, the son took a photo in his bedroom late at night and noticed a dark shape blocking the lit corner. Enhancing the photo with a red filter appeared to show a face and a white dress figure. He was frightened and slept in his sibling's room for about a week until the room was blessed.

The witness's male coworker said he was doing water testing and sleeping in a van with a trailer at a remote reservoir with a work partner. He awoke to fast approaching footsteps, then felt the van jerk up as something jumped on the trailer tongue and saw a shadowy face with dread-like hair look into the window. Both men immediately drove out through the locked gate and saw no one else.

The witness's female coworker said she and her boyfriend were lying in the back of their Jeep by the water waiting for fish when raccoons were rustling nearby. She got up to check and saw a tall figure staring at her over the top of the vehicle, which then ran away extremely fast and loudly. The next morning they found an area of matted reeds with a freshly stripped catfish skeleton and entrails nearby.

The witness was walking through tall weeds and thought a companion was pacing them. A very loud voice called out the companion's name and laughed with enough force to vibrate clothing. The witness climbed a tree, saw a huge black shape in the weeds, warned it and fired.

The witness and a companion were swimming in an above-ground pool when the witness felt watched. He saw a white face with shoulders above six-foot brush about 100 yards down a clear cut. Both boys looked, confirmed it, glanced at each other, and it was gone.

While hunting over multiple seasons, one hunter repeatedly saw large round dark shapes partly obscured by trees that he first took for deer rumps. The shapes never offered a full shot and sometimes appeared as several at once, with slight movement. He later concluded they were peeking creatures rather than deer.

The boyfriend's father and a companion went at dusk to look at farmland near the river. They heard the same gorilla-like and howler-like sounds the guest described. As they tried to drive away something lifted the rear of their car, and the father saw only a hair-covered dome-shaped head and shoulders in the rear window before it dropped the car and they fled.

An elderly couple heard a crash at night and found a rock on the kitchen floor with a broken window. The husband stepped outside and a creature swiped at him, missed, stared briefly, then walked away across the road.

The witness, then a child, was sent back to camp alone while his father and brother scouted firewood. Near a small meadow he noticed what looked like a bear behind brush about 40-50 yards away. The animal stood on two legs, revealing ape-like features, holding a tree with one hand. Frightened, he ran back to camp and his father dismissed it as a bear.

The witness set out alone on a multi-day hike through swamp trail and camped overnight in a hammock. During the night the camp was surrounded by unseen figures making vocalizations, knocks and walking sounds, and a food bag was knocked down. The next day the witness found large tracks, then encountered large dark hairy figures on and near the trail, one of which followed closely. The witness fled in panic to a highway rest stop and required medical care, reporting lasting distress and nightmares.

To identify what was wrecking bait barrels, the crew placed a trail camera about seven feet high. The next day it had been spun around and smashed, with the only image showing a large dark hairy arm reaching around and covering the lens.

The witness says that on multiple evenings while hunting or heading home with dogs, he saw figures with glowing red eyes and dog-like ears watching from brush across the river. His dogs would growl and confront the figures, and gunfire would provoke screaming and fights. On several occasions a dog chased and never returned.

Further down by a beaver dam he found a fresh large human-like footprint in mud with clear toes and no arch. At his uncle's hillside house at night the adults saw something moving trees and went with guns to look. In a flashlight beam the witness saw a huge tall creature distinguished by massive upright pointed ears. His uncle fired a shotgun and it gave the same loud girthy scream heard on the Fourth of July, after which his father carried him running back to the house.

While driving slowly over a washout near camp, youths riding in the truck bed shouted to go and said a huge bear stood up from a five-foot ravine to cab height. The driver accelerated to camp. He inspected the spot in the morning but rain had washed away sign.

While trying to photograph baby flying squirrels from her elevated balcony, the guest moved a flashlight to the ground and discovered two figures watching her from about a dozen feet away. One turned away showing a wide-shouldered, hairy back with large arms and a small conical head on all fours, while the other showed only hair to the side. She inadvertently took photos as both fled, and next morning found torn ground where they had run.
